In-game time and weather passes independent of real time or time zone, you should be seeing daylight just as much as night. And 11 days to get to 49 is good but not that hardcore, I've heard of people doing it in 5 days or less, though I'm not sure if they made it easier now with expac.

 

I've got a week off from work, hit 50 in 7 days.

It's hard to describe leveling in ffxiv though, because there's your standard thing, but you can level every class on the same character, and there's some cross-class abilities you can get if you do, so it's strongly encouraged.

 

No it's stupidly easy to level grind. I stopped playing after a few months, but I had capped my monk in about 2.5 weeks of light play. The hunt things that pop up in every zone give insane amounts of exp.

 

3 days, 16 hours to 50, according to my play time.

Maybe add a day or two if you're new to MMOs.

Edit: hey, fuck off! All my friends are working and I had nothing else to do!

Edit2: OH! I should mention, 0% of that time is crafting/ gathering. Crafting/ gathering professions are a separate 'class' that get xp and need to be leveled each. It's implied by people here that you don't even need to participate either, if you don't want to.

All post launch gameplay related content will be earnable for free by playing the game.

There's 2 currencies, one earned in game one with rl cash. You'll be buying skins with the latter and quick buy characters with that too if you don't want to grind.

Brilliant because they won't be splitting the community anymore.

Tl;dr SFV will be adopting LoL's monetisation strategy.

Oh, final release character count is 16 too, 12 old (including Ryu, Chun-Li, Nash, Bison, Cammie, Birdie and Ken) and 4 original.

So, Journey came out on ps4 today. I never got round to playing it given I was otherwise preoccupied with PC games when it originally came out - I did play the free demo, but that's it.

So I started and finished it in one sitting. It's short, but holy fuck did it resonate.

I was going in expecting a pretty, overhyped walking simulator and what I got was so much more.

 

I've been waiting for that, perfect returning to Uni gift <3

 

Two days til Life is Strange Episode 4.

 

I'm almost finished with replaying Arcanum and already have my eyes on Icewind Dale 2 and Baldur's Gate 2 to replay as well. But I'm undecided on whether to play BG2 EE or just the plain old GOG version of the game.

Anyone here played the enhanced edition of BG2? If so, how was it?

 

FFXII remaster supposedly got accidentally on purpose confirmed. Now that is a FF remake/remaster I can get behind.

There's a game coming out this week on ps4 called Galak-Z.

It's a gorgeous 2D, physics-based, action adventure, roguelike where you start off as a fighter pilot before quickly getting the ability to transform into a mech that can melee, grapple and throw shit around at the press of a button.

It's very reminiscent of old-school mech anime (the art isn't equally retro, thankfully) and the story is presented as such, as episodes and seasons.

Go watch a vid, it looks incredible. Can't wait!

Btw, anyone else playing Rocket League?

 

Yes, I love Duel mode. Standard and Chaos drive me insane, namely my own team hitting me when I'm trying to save their ass.

 

For serious, competitive play, the fewer the better, yeah.

But if you just don't care about the outcome, 3v3 and 4v4 are proper mental, in the best way.
