My argument is that, with enough fleshing out of the story, everything up to 'that' scene could easily be a standalone RPG.

A really meaty one too.

You don't necessarily need to bring in CC or dirge.

 

I'd rather they not do all this "Compilation of FFVII" over again. I liked the original game well enough but the glut of add-ons and such really wore thin on me.

Square Enix dev team members have already stated that by breaking it up they don't have to cut content, and will be expanding some sections of the original game to flesh them out further. I'm all for this, though again, I never played (and now won't with the remake coming) the original FF VII

 

If we're talking 40-100 hours of gameplay per disc, then I'd happily pay $60 each. I do hope you can save content between them though.

Black Desert Online closed beta going online today. Anybody get a key? I heard they were gone within an hour or two of giveaway announcement.

 

The rumour has been floating around ever since the PSX keynote ended rather abruptly the other week, as if there was supposed to be another video at the end there.

If you can't be arsed watching, it's Kojima confirming he's created his own indi studio (Kojima Productions) and that he's already working on a 'new franchise' that'll be a console exclusive to Playstation.

To clarify, Sony owns the IP he's making, not his studio. Very much like the Ratchet and Clank/ Insomniac situation. It's not impossible that he'll make an xbox title in the future, like Insomniac did with Sunset Overdrive.

I'm not a big fan of the Metal Gear games, but I'm really fucking curious with what he'll do next. PT was fantastic.

 

A CHALLENGER APPROACHES!

Cloud and Bayonetta are being added to Smash.

Cloud is already available for download and Bayonetta will be released around February. They are getting amiibos too.

 

So Bandai Namco started some mysterious teaser site, and as far as those things go, it's pretty well done.

Along with weird shapes on the screen, periodically a message will appear. For me it's usually been in Spanish, though I've also heard of messages in Italian and French. My Spanish isn't good enough to recognize the words quickly enough to write them down, and I can't be fucked to screencap.

That said, in English I've gotten 'The garden of life will blossom in the sky.' and 'We are the prey.'

Anyone have a theory? I'm a sucker for cryptic bullshit.

So. After two weeks with Battlefront, I can honestly say it's the most unfulfilling SW game I've ever played. Victory in any large scale battle always seems reliant on who has the best cover experts / snipers, as there is really no way to survive for an extended period of time in a heated close quarters situation.

The game's only pleasure comes from those infrequent moments that I find a hero card and rampage as Skywalker or Vader for 2-3 minutes.

 

So, based on the scifi-ness I have a real theory and a fanboy pipedream

The fanboy in me hopes that the 2 Gundam games announced (a new Breaker game, and a new SD Gundam Turn Based RPG) were just the beginning, and that this is a third Gundam game, an action adventure title that handles like the earliest Vs. game - Federation Vs. Zeon - which was very different from modern Vs games in pacing/style (and had a fantastic campaign mode)

The real hope though is that Namco Bandai is announcing a new FROM Software title, Armored Core VI

Whatever #MYSTERIOUSGAME is, it looks sci-fi so I'm optimisitic even if it's not Armored Core

I thought they already came out with the games? A vita Gundam game, Jojos game, two god eater games and Tales of Berseria (which, despite how cool it looks, I'm forcing my friend to test to see if it's not another Xilia...)

 

Yeah, it's God Eater: Defy All Gods. Could be wrong about the title.

Kinda disappointed, personally. I learned long ago not to buy into hype to much, but I was hoping for something new.

As far as the other announcements made: Gundam Extreme Vs. Force for the PS Vita/PSTV is coming west and it's not getting a good response due (in part) to it being a single player experience, while the EX VS series is a really crazy fighting game series in all other titles.

Personally, Mobile Suit Gundam: Federation Vs Zeon is one of my favorite games of all time, and that has a very different pacing than modern EX VS games so I'm hoping this new Vita game is a nice medium.

 

I feel like they'd get more success out of bringing these games to the West if they brought the PS4 versions, but that's just me.:facepalm
