Square Enix is doing the same thing with the FF7 remake, episodic content bullshit.

Episodic content is fine, especially in games like Hitman which make sense to be episodic, or FFVII which is literally so huge they have to release it in installments or go bankrupt.

This kind of thing was always going to happen to AAA games. Early Access is way too tempting for the big guys to avoid it. They'll slowly introduce consumers to it, just like with DLC.

The more they do it, the less I'll buy. Hopefully, I'm not the only one.

Except they're not. Each FF7 part will be a full sized game with a complete story, not a single full game divided into tiny pieces. We need to stop referring to it as episodic.

I've been hearing from different sources about Devil's Third. Reviewers say it's awful, some users are defending it.

...I don't really like the design so I'm staying away from it.

Fans of a cult classic defending its terrible sequel? Strange.

Devil's Third is terrible, but it has one of the most interesting multiplayer modes I've ever seen. I really wish that was in a better game. I recommend watching a short video of it, because it is super cool.

This. DT's only redeeming factor is an incredibly complex and exciting multiplayer, exactly what you would want MGS V to have had, but other than that the game is straight trash.

    re: Hitman

I'm happy with the new plan, as I would much rather see if I'll like Hitman by playing that Welcome pack of 1 mission and the prologue than drop 35 USD on half a game if I don't know if I'll like it.

Additionally, assuming each installment of Hitman comes out on time and without major bugs, what is wrong with breaking it up into 6 pieces? the games costs a whole $5 more if you buy it piecemeal than whole, not exactly the worst thing to ever happen imo

I've got it on PS3. It's a good game, though it has it's issues. By all accounts the PC version is better, though it's still one character per account. It also looks slightly better now, but 'slightly better' is still shit.

I was thinking of getting it on PC. I regularly only do a character on big RPG's. So, are there any issues with the game beyond that?

Nothing I know of that you can't get used to. From what I've heard, keyboard and mouse is the best set up for ranged, but controller is much better for melee, so plan around that. Keyboard is fully re-configurable, but controller only has six presets.

The pawn system is a bit derpy sometimes, particularly the AI, which you can manage a bit. So sometimes you might end up with a tank that totally ignores the enemy and runs around looting shit. That's only happened to me once.

Some concepts take a little getting used to, like how some of the combat cooperation works.

Escort missions can be a bitch. If you've seen those comics of escorting an npc or something only for a random griffin to fall from the sky and smash them, then fly away? Those are all true.

Like I said, the graphics are dated, though I'd expect a mod sometime soon to help with that.

And if you're a completionist, use a guide. There's entire areas you can get locked out of unless you do quests that are only available between story quests. Entire quest chains you can get locked out of for not doing the right side quest in the first twenty minutes.

There's also some weird issues with how the game determines things, but most of those end up more hilarious then problematic.

Remember to take everything I've said with a grain of salt. I've only played the PS3 version and watched totalbiscut's port report. That said, I highly recommend it for the price.

I loved character creation in DD. I made so many HP pawns. My FemHarry was legit.

If you're hanging to play a JRPG sooner, Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth is out next week on ps4 and vita.

Turn based Pokemon clone, not as deep gameplay, but with a better story. I'm just psyched to get Beelzemon :D

While i'm psyched to play, my ideal Digimon game is coming out next month in Japan, where you don't actually control the digimon, but give 'suggestions'.

    Hope it gets translated...
