So, utterly unsurprising news: Horizon was delayed into Q1 next year, probably the fourth or fifth big Sony holiday exclusive in a row to do this exact same thing.

Starting to get super annoying. Not the delay, but the utterly transparent practices behind the announcement and delays.

 

I wouldn't be so okay with this if it weren't for the fact that The Last Fucking Guardian is slated for this year and I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt on the Horizon delay as long as they deliver on TLG.

Did you see the trailer that contained the delay? This game just jumped up my excitement list to the top of "After 2016"

Before E3 we should all post our lists for our most anticipated games of 2016 and beyond, and then once all the big announcements are out of the way next week we should compare them to our new lists. I'll make a thread for it in a few hours.

I've said my piece on how fucking annoying I find it when ppl delay after hard announcements. Short version: DON'T GIVE DATES UNTIL YOU GO GOLD.

 

Fairly certain it's a hoax. The noise about this started from one barely credible source, was reverberated around the toxic waste dump that is neogaf/gamefaqs, was supplemented by tons of photoshopped images, and is now being "confirmed" by other wholly non-credible sources.

Anyway, even if it does turn out to be true... more debug/optim time is okay with me. I've waited ten years. What's two months?

I feel like i should reiterate. I've no problem with delays. I've a huge problem with companies making an event out of their announcement only to delay.

It's like they're getting free press / publicity / hype they don't deserve. Pisses me off.

The worst part is that it doesn't even look that good on max settings, yet it demands so much.

 

Holy crap that's bad.

 

It keeps getting worse.

SLI 1080 and the framerate hovers in the 30s range.

Question though: is it an AMD or Nvidia optimized game? How about DX12 support? I admit, I haven't been following this at all.

 

Someone already tried it with DX12 (I haven't saved the link/images for that) and the results are pretty much the same.

No idea if they worked with Nvidia or AMD on this.

 

8x MSAA will kill any machines framerate even if you spent thousands of dollars on it and there's also a soft shadows setting that's barely noticeable but hits the performance hard to. Multiple sites have reviewed the pc version and their reviews didn't mention any major problems (not that there can't be any).

I believe it is amd optimized. There's amd branding on load up and square enix games tend to go with amd to my knowledge.

I'm personally waiting for Totalbiscuit's video cause he's a massive Deus Ex fan and would definitely complain if there's any problems with it.
