Back in 2003 or 2004, I remember reading a time travel fic where Harry is sent to the past when Voldemort casts the Killing Curse on him during the events of Halloween 1981.

Harry's thrown really, really far back in time. From what I remember he ended up somewhere around the Stone Age (or even earlier from what Syaoran remembers).

Harry ends up living through the events of most of human history and ends up being the source material of many of humanity's myths. If I remember correctly, he may have even ended up being the basis for the god of Abraham. The fic ends when Old Harry arrives in 1981 to face Voldemort, his infant self having just been sent back in time.

I'm aware that this sounds incredibly cliche and pretty terrible, if I'm honest. But for some reason it's bugging me that I can't find it again.

The chances of anyone remembering this fic are pretty small, but I thought I'd ask on the off chance that anyone actually knows what I'm talking about.

 

Sounds like Voldemort's Last Spell by Louis IX. I don't remember if he becomes the inspiration for a lot of humanity's legends, but Harry is sent to the Stone Age by Voldemort's curse.

 

Huh, that's it. Guess I overestimated how long ago it was. It's quite a bit different from what I remember, to be honest. I'm a bit disappointed.

It probably is. I read the whole story. It's pretty interesting. Though it's probably considered boring as hell to most people here.

The Man from Earth / HP crossover. This would be a pretty interesting concept actually. I suppose Highlander would work too in a sense. The same 'one man's view of history' but instead of just Muggle history, we'd get an insight into ancient wizarding cultures like the greeks, romans, norse, and so forth. I'd be happy with a pretty basic plot of Harry telling the tale or something like that, if it was written well.

Dammit, this is going to become another rabid plot bunny, isn't it?

 

How do one feel about that? A good author wants to write a interesting fic, but you already follow 2 of his stories.

It's weird and unusual, but other than the bizarre x-men crossover for a chapter in the middle I thought it was pretty good.
