So upon reading the summary it was apparent that this was a 2nd rate Bungle clone, but I figured I'd look at it anyway

    And that's not all...

I'm not sure if this is supposed to be a crack fic or not, but it certainly reads like one.

. insurgere reviews Hufflepuff is the house of the leftovers, the losers, the forgotten. Well, Tom Riddle thinks, it's time to change that.Harry Potter - Rated: K+ - English - Chapters: 1 - Words: 6,881 - Reviews: 52 - Published: 3-27-10 - Tom R. Jr. - Complete

Tom Riddle sorted into Hufflepuff. A pretty decent read.

It's good, very good. I enjoyed the writing, even though it was in third person present tense.

    My opinion, library worthy.

I really enjoyed all but the last segment, when
I got confused about whether the things were happening to Tom Riddle, happening to others in Tom's circle of friends/followers, or happening at all (as in, just speculation on possible futures).

Other than that, I thought it was well worth the time. Library worthy? Probably so. Personally, I would go with 4/5, factoring in my confusion in the last segment. If I can get that cleared up for me, I might go higher. Again, well worth the read time, especially with the insights into canon stuff about early Tom Riddle at the orphanage - very thought-provoking.

Concerning Wizards <----Here is an interesting HP/LotR crossover I might recommend for review after a few more chapters.

Summary: Fate hated him, Death obviously has something against him, and now he is awake in a green land unlike what he left and is determined not to care this time. NoPairings, HPLOTR X-over

So far, so good. The author challenged him/herself to write a crossover that doesn't involve slash and doesn't make Harry an elf. Best way I can put it is that this is a story that brings Harry through the veil and bars all other supernatural influences (i.e. fate, valar, some cosmic deity fucking with him).

Good spelling, grammar, no glaring errors, solid knowledge of both universes, and creative with some awesome moments. A very good read, if a little on the short side right now.

Also, there's a line in chapter 3 (during an argument with Aragorn) that pretty much seems to sum up what's wrong with the HP/LotR community. I saw it and went :awesome!

Ah ya this fic is quite good. A few really angsty moments and looks like a drunkard!Harry but I've been following it because of the challenge the author has set him/herself and hopefully the author will stick to their guns and complete it.

Too drunk for my liking, tbh. Does anything happen apart from him just getting repeatedly wasted?

Honestly, the only real plot advancement so far is in the latter half of chapter 3. While it may not seem like much, it makes for a pretty awesome setup for things to come.

    Not yet. :(

What I'm especially concerned about, is that the author stated s/he wants the crossover to have equal parts of either world in it. To do that s/he is going to have Harry come to terms with his past over a long time, so we're probably in for a lot of flashbacks or old characters visiting through the stone of resurrection.
I'm not really interested in characters that are already dead. I don't care how they died, the story should be about Harry and his relationships with the characters of LotR who are alive.

Another fic from DrT. With many of the things that make a DrT fic, a DrT fic. Somewhat interesting. A 27 year old, Grey!Harry from an Alt. universe merges with the Pure!Harry of another. Brief thing with Granger for about a chapter or two. This fusion!Harry is slowly starting a revolution against the current establishment (Pureblood agenda, Europe's substandard education system, etc.)

decent read to pass the time, nothing to really write home about right now.

    High 3/5

    Ficwad is annoying.

/wanted to take a look at his NC-17 fic.

Edit: Found that fic a little unbearable. I like the H/HG pairing, but that one made me wince a lot. :/

While I'm not sure if this is library worthy, I have to say I don't consider reading this fic a time wasted.
Yes, it is full of cliches, even those bad ones. However in my opinion they are not so obvious (or so outstanding) so that I can't dismiss them ad enjoy the story.

    A guilty pleasure. 3/5

I read the second chapter, I was :awesome

I only have the faintest clue about what is going on, and you know what? That is alright. The story is pure crack, plain and simple. It going on my alerts right now.

    4/5

A 6 year old Harry stumbles on a box of old Naruto manga. inspired, he reaches within, using chakra to quickly become a phenomenal ninja. What happens when he suddenly finds out that magic exists? Independant and powerful Harry.
    Crossover - Harry Potter & Naruto - Rated: T - English - Adventure - Chapters: 5 - Words: 16,112 - Reviews: 128 - Updated: 5-25-10 - Published: 3-26-10 - Harry P.

Despite the fact that HP crossovers with Naruto/Some-Ninja-story are usually full of shit, I tried this one and was pleasantly surprised. While I wouldn't recommend it for the library, the author has an engaging style of story telling and has managed to succeed in keeping my attention so far - enough that I've put it on my alerts. If it keeps going this way, then it could well become one of the exceptions to the fail that is HP-Naruto (Ninja-stuff) crossovers.

Edit: It is mostly Harry-centric and is placed in the HP world (so far).

1411eastwest has been producing quality crack at a reliable update rate for a while now, and unlike most crack authors is very good about completing his stories. I expect Jedi Harry to do hilarious things.

Great rec, and definitely worthy of For Review once s/he has a gew more chapters hammered out. I can relate to the wanting to be drunk all the time thing, albeit my reasons are more cultural. :awesome
Aaaaand I have to check this out too.
