That was fairly painful. It's more verbose than Tolkien's original was and fails hard at it too. And the author's way of presenting elvish speech is also annoying.
Harry lands in Middle Earth, spends 300 hundred years there and gets married and becomes a Prince. He still remembers his past life (all of fifteen thoroughly forgettable years) and has no idea when the magic that brought him to Middle Earth will take him back. That is the first three chapters and ~25000 words.
It'd still be in the almost average part of the spectrum, though.

Well, I never said it was awesome, just that it exists. While some parts are definitely painful to read, there are some points written I think are pretty cool.

I read this one awhile back, I think it has been abandoned but it is still 60k words or so, and harry/bella. Sadly, I cannot remember if it was good or not, but I think it was at least readable because my bookmark says I finished it.

Virail's statement seems accurate to me. The story has been three years without a genuine update. A Future Remapped style shitchapter to demonstrate the author giving up on the story doesn't count.

With Voldemort dead and rotting Harry sets out to settle some long overdue debts.

Pretty good one-shot. I've seen stories like these before where Harry hunts down Death Eaters, so the plot is nothing new or creative. The writing is pretty solid though and I noticed no grammar or spelling errors. There was one part that I liked especially, where Harry creates a phantom ghost of his to use in a duel, it was quite imaginative.

Overall, good work by the author. I would even say this is library worthy. I'll put it up for review if other people like it as much as I did.

Worth a read but I found the whole thing to be a bit boring. The author's style of writing is good but there were far too much description to keep me entertained. Magical duels is not a turn-on for me, which makes me strange I guess.

Put it up for review, it is at least recycling bin worthy.

I agree with Stenstyren; the story didn't draw me in at all. The duel kinda fell flat on itself and the story had no other redeeming aspects. 2/5 for technical merit

Here's another one to keep an eye on:

Anthem of the Angels by Shadow Rebirth - Time has no meaning, not to the Planet. Time is a human conception, a human worry. But time is all Harry has left-and something he's running out of. /The Calamity has returned, they whisper. The Calamity will Break again./ AU, no pairings.

HP/FFVII crossover from one of my favorite authors. Only 3 chapters in right now but it's worth the read for anyone who likes Final Fantasy.

    Oh shit, do want! :awesome

And hope this isn't like ofther final fantasy crossovers which, I shit you not, stick religiously to the the game mechanics and have random battle encounters.

"Fire!" Harry called out and watched as crimson flames burst to life, consuming SHINRA GUARD A. He waited for SHINRA GUARD B and SHINRA GUARD C to slash at him, ignoring the dozens of bullet wounds dotted around his torso before attacking again.

This^9000. I've read so many Final Fantasy stories written by authors who can't seem to understand how fail it is to port combat dialogue from a game to a word document.

Pretty good as far as its gone, and I say that despite not knowing a single thing about Final Fantasy. Somehow though, I kept getting the feeling this is going to be slash - Harry/Rude/that-other-red-haired-guy...

It's already listed as no pairing so it's all good!

I like it. Perhaps when it gets a bit longer someone will put it in the library.

Agreed, it's been a while since I've read a decent HP/FF crossover (besides my guilty pleasure fic Defying Fate: Journey of the Offworlder) and this is certainly looking to be a good one.

Oh god, the memories. That was a guilty pleasure for me too.

And yeah, I'll throw my hat into the "liking the ideas here with Anthem of the Angels" ring. Big potential to either crash and burn horribly or make something epic fun. Hope for the latter then.

Well, I've read the authors other stuff in the past. He's pretty consistent when it comes to in-story-awesomeness. I'm not too worried that this'll crash'n'burn...

...but it's happened to better stories...sigh...

I still re-read it occasionally. Well, up to the part where random bloke whose name I can't remember gets forced into going Trance/Limit Break/Other Special Attack because of one of the Sorceresses. I remember it really going downhill after that.

Short chapters and quick plot movement are probably the only things this fic has going for it. Probably on the lower end of the barely readable spectrum, which is a pity because I am a fan of Honks.

The first chapter has Harry attempting suicide, Tonks saves him as he is about to draw his last breath (stupid fucker couldn't even hang himself right), they head to her apartment and declare their wub for each other. Throw in a dash of soul bond and you have got a recipe of fail.

I've gotten to the obligatory Sirius Black will reading before I posted here (Chapter 9). I assume that it going to be much the same indie formula till the last chapter posted. As long as the chapters don't get much longer, I'll probably tough it out and finish it.
