    I am not against giving Harry an animagus form... But turning him into a pheonix is just to cliched. I could see him as something like a Pit Bull though... Friendly as hell... Until you piss them off.

    The thousands of death eaters existing is an annoying cliche... I can see several hundred, but anything more than 2 or 300 is just plain unrealistic. It seems like the war in canon is going to play out like a gang war.

    As for the Death Eaters, I tend to place their overall numbers at about 150 or so. The number will swell and dwindle as I go along. Not every rank and file wizard that joins up has to necessarily be mentioned in the books.

    I used to think there were few of them but that they were powerful. But now after HBP, were after 2 weeks of leaving hogwarts, all war has broken out and giants and stuff are attacking i dunno. Theres prob a million, if JKR has her way. Anyway as for the topic, I can't stand STAFFS.
    God I'm so tired of fics were Harry gets a staff, asa substitute for a wand. I can stomach ones were a staff has a specific purpose, like for doing something special. But i hate ones were Harry is all powerful because he possesses an ancient staff.
    I also hate fics in which the fuse together muggle and wizard stuff, and things get really complex. Like stupefy hand gernades. Or were the Weasleys twins are war geniuses, and grand designers.

    Aye but you must consider the reactions of the wizarding world to everything dark, and it's no problem as long as it isn't about a thousand death eaters (I once read one with over a hundred thousand now this was extreme).

    I don't have a problem with giving Harry a staff... As long as the author doesn't turn him into a god because of the staff.

    Also fusing together muggle and wizard stuff isn't so bad... Once again it depends how the author writes it...

    Thats another cliche that pisses me off, even canon uses it. War.

    A fight between 20 or so Order members, another 50 or so tops Aurors that respond late as hell to everything, and then 20-30ish death eaters and a few werewolves, a few giants and a few dozen dementors does not a war make.

    Skirmishes, battles, conflicts, yes. WAR? Pfft. If everyone in the canon world wasn't such cowards as JKR writes it, Voldemort would of had his ass whacked out along time ago.

    Pretty much.

    Though really war is just politics through physical means... Or something like that, I forget the exact quote.

    cliches

    :banana: just managed to read all the posts :D
    wanna some more cliches:
    -Blaise Zabini [pardon, Zambini] is a girl;
    -Harry gets to have 3 patroni(?): the stag, the 'grim' , and the werewolf [though I like this one in general];
    -Harry sends a letter of apology for looking into his pensieve to Snape [which changes Snape into a nicer person];

    warning /slash idea/but still cliche
    Harry has to bond with Snape to increase his magical power

    I feel Blaise Zabini (no 'm') is a much more interesting character as a female, and it isn't really a cliche, because most people are writing Blaise stories from when that character had no gender. People simply didn't know, and even though I do know now, Blaise will continue to be female in my stories.

    hmm, I know it's Zabini, but some just put it as such [with the 'm'] the first time I read it I was suprised, but then I saw it many times. :wall:

    >realmess will not ramble about bad spelling< :evil: :rrou:

    about the gender- I always thought of Zabini as a boy *shrugs*, but, yes, as a she Zabini's pretty feisty. *snickers*

    how about the use of the Room of Requirement?
