That I can understand. The predestined match deal was a more than a bit questionable, and probably among the bigger mistakes I've made as a then-inexperienced author, but it still serves a purpose. In my defense though, the romance has become almost nonexistant at the current point. Harry is becoming much darker and more obsessed with power and conquest, and aside from the occasional demonic lust prickling, doesn't care so much for mushy garbage.

I think I'll stick by what I said way back in a biting useless review. I'll wait til you finish it and give it a read then. From what you're saying now, methinks I'll like it better. Even with Cho. Maybe I'll just get a finished copy of the fic and just mass search-and-replace "Cho" with "Ginny" and see if Ginny Chang makes it work for me.

Nah, not really. I honestly don't think my Cho would bother you too much once you get into the story a little. Only her name really has ANYTHING in common with her canon character (and she annoyed me in OotP as much as she did everybody else, probably more so because I had always liked her so much prior and found it tougher to keep doing so). At this point she's about as cold and dark as Harry is. For evidence you might try reading the chapter coming after the next, when she ends up squaring off against a resurrected Cedric Diggory when Voldemort attacks Mr. Weasley's funeral. It's not going to be a tearful reunion.

 

Now that sounds like a wonderfully deviant image!

I'd like to think yours will happily rip him to shreds and maybe keep his bits as a memento.

 

*shrug* that's your opinion, but I named it evil mostly due to the actions he's going to have to do. It's not crazy evil slaughtering Harry, it's more a "buy every building around and use it to blackmail ppl to doing what he wants evil"

I could just switch it to dark really, since he doesn't become fullblown evil ever. Hrm =P

Yay! Go Me and my massive story

 

hm. Just came across this and wish to share (or just can't stop myself). I have a lot of oneshots, but I'm not really going to count those. I recieved about 200 hits, 12 reviews average, for them.

As of now, the stats of my only multi-chaptered HP fic are:

Title: Bleed Black (6 chapters-8,651 words)
5,225 hits - 68 reviews - 41 C2s - 35 favs - 63 alerts

The story hasn't been updated since Oct. 13, 2005. I know it had 10,000 hits a week after my last update, apparently (judging from this topic) they cleared the stats at some point. The chapters are pathetically short (which originates from feeling obligated to continue, rather than interest in writing it), so I'm rather suprised as many people liked it as they did. (apparently people like cliched azkaban fics) Moving on..

It's funny how the number of hits shoot up after you hit 100,000 words. Some people are just too lazy to read a shorter WIP :lol: . I'm also curious about stats and it'd be interesting to see how stories from different genres compare...

 

My stats are going downhill for some reason these recent weeks, and it's starting to irritate me no small amount. I'm almost at the point where I'm about to go entirely into writing Naruto and leave HP behind.

 

That's strange...do you update regularly? If so, it should shoot up usually. Don't go too far...abandoning HP? Seems a bit drastic just for a few weeks of low stats.
