    -Parsel magic.

While I think that Harry firing off a spell in parseltongue would make it a bitch to prepare for, I doubt there is some all powerful parseltongue only book hidden in plain sight, that he'll immediatly find and become GOD.

i dont really have a problem with Parsel magic but a Parsel magic book hidden in plaine sight is wrong....although he could steal it from voldemort but it shouldn't be an all powerful Parsel magic book

When he finds it in the Hogwarts libary or something, its just plain stupid. Dumbledore would have it removed even thou 99% of people cant even read it. He would keep it safe and out of the reach of Voldie's little Death Munchers that attend the school.

If he finds it in Grimmauld Place's libary, its still pretty silly unless its hidden somewhere. If its out for the whole world to see, the Order would probably keep it somewhere safe and not sitting on a shelf.

Parsel Magic would be strong simply because nobody knows the spells and how to reverse the effects (Dark Mark?). The most reasonable place for such a book would be the Chamber of Secrets, simply because Salazar was the most prominent parseltongue. Also Dumbledore couldnĀ“t remove the Book because he couldnĀ“t get into the chamber.

yes but tom then would take the book cause he was the first one to open it since Salazar himself

Tell me something now.......hwo would Harry or Voldermort even be able to read a book written in parsel? Being able to speak a language is alot diferent than being able to read that language. I could talk before I could read and I needed someone to teach me how to read who exactly would teach them? If he learned by himself how is he sure he is even pronouncing the words corectly or getting the desired effects from spells?

No, i won't go for any "hidden" book int the CoS.

Tom found it, and obviously spent enough time down there it appears from canon.

An AU where Tom never went in there or something, yeah, but in canon I expect the guy would of taken anything not bolted down out of there if it was the least bit important

It's the chamber of secrets, i doubt Salazar wrote a map of it, there could be dozens of hidden rooms in there which Tom could've missed.

    That's what i think atleast.
I mean come on, it couldn't only be the room where Harry fought the basilisk, THERE'S GOTTA BE MORE DOWN THERE!!!

Aye i agree with you about there being more, but not some ultra godlike spell book written in parsel sitting there "conviently" overlooked..

I just have a hard time thinking Tom, being the way he is, didn't explore every square inch of the place, looking for any scrap of power he could get his hands on ya know?
