I was led believe that the Admins of FanFiction.net are Retarted Chimps but hey.

 

An update of around 2,000 words for me would actually be a fairly large one. I'm not very good at expanding my plot points or ideas. Thats why I'm always blown away by these authors who produce 3,000+ word chapters nearly daily.

 

Alot of those guys have the entire thing done already, or are 3+ chapters ahead of where they post, lol that's just insane for me.

Traitors for example, started out as me just putting together years worth of notes, and making it into a coherent story in 15 minutes, typing it into this reply box I'm typing into now. 50K words later I no longer do that, and need to get a beta, lol.

Some of those guys are also kids on summer vacation, or just lazy bastards!

 

lol, I fall under the lazy bastard catagory. I'll go months without updating then type up a new chapter for several fics in a day. Maybe one day I'll get a voice typer software, I think I read recently that you use one Midknight? Did I get that right? Do they work well?

I might have a chapter or two done on paper, or notes of what goes on next, but when it comes time to typing I find myself at an impass.

 

Yeah I use the Microsoft Voice kit that came with unreal tournament 2K4, for my notes and first and second drafts, then I go back and proofreed.

It does work well, after I added my custom words and spent a lot of time training it, maybe a hour or two reading out of the selections it had to make it learn my voice and slang. (Dumble = Dumbledore, Voldie=Voldemort, DL= Dark Lord, and so on and so forth, alot of little shortcuts like that)

When I type now that I'm predoing chapters, I'll often wind up with what'll equal 20-30K words, then I go back and prune out what I went way overboard on, and start trimming the fat down to the 7Kish I try to use for my chapter size

 

Prune it a little, but lets see some MIdknight UNCUT!!!

 

Naw, if I did that , the conversations the characters had in the start would of lasted another 30 pages, lol

 

What? Are the characters telling their live stories.

 

OMG! i totally have ADHD.......in the middle of writing...ill insert random words i hear from songs or tv...or just me cursing at something random...like....
