More than sufficient methinks. Time travel stories are a very good read if and only if written nicely.

 

I agree with you, but remember in most stories like that, he's got an advisor nearby that is constantly coaching him. I always just assume he's been taking lessons and they aren't writing that in.

My Harry's looking at around 20 years in a compressed time room. Time travel seems to be the only decent way to mature Harry as needed andg et what you need done.

The way JKR herself has written Harry.. I don't personally think he stands a chance in hell in a real fight where Voldy isn't playing with him. She's gonna have to figure out some way to kick him up several dozens notches also.

On that note, I pray to anything that will listen to me, please do not make books 6+7 "whiny" Harry he barely knew Sirius. And for the love of god don't make a Lily be secertly descended from powerful magical families like ppl are hinting on official fanboards.

 

Lily being descended from ANY wizarding family I detest.. it's just been overdone way too much.

Hmm come to think of it, I just thought of a way that noone's (that I know of) has done Lily's family were wizards before... Lily would be either adopted(I've seen this come to think of it)... or both her parents would be of had the wizarding world obliviated out of them before Lily and Petunia were born.(NOT seen this)

yeah I did some brainstorming on that angle, came up with

-Lily's parents fought against Grindelwald, got tired of all the killing and death they'd seen. Had Dumbles/someone obliviate the everliving crap out of them, and sent them off to live like good little muggles.

It works, and is WAY more freaking believeable then, "Oh Harry your Mums line has produced squibs for the last 1000 years, and and btw you're the heir of Salazar."

Anyone feel free to use that idea, just lemee know so I can read it... hell i may make that a challenge, heh

 

Or just a untrained witch who rejected her magic at such a deep level she's totally repressed it and cannot access it anymore

 

I've read a story where Lily's parents choosed to live as muggles after Grindelwald and never told anyone. They changed their names and had no contact to the wizarding world, even blocked their own magic so they weren't able to use it anymore.

here is something that pisses me off alot after harry inherates the headquaters he still lets the order of pheniox(sp) use it in a dark harry or dark but lightside harry or along those lines where he has "issues" with the order

 

Yeah.. I personally find that a bit odd myself. ...I know I havent covered it in my fic, but while Harry has personal issues with Dumbledore, he doesn't want to impeed the Order because of it. He may have a darker personality but still wants to fight voldemort and realizes he needs the orders help to do it, even if they dont do it the "Right" way, according to him

Aye. If Harry is peeved @ Dumbles, the whole order should go in most stories. The order, most of them, just blindly follow the old idiot. Not exactly the type of ppl you'd want to remain friendly with if they follow the orders of your enemy/manipulator/insert description here.


Another Peeve: Dumbledore always being totally oblivious to the horrible teaching going on in the dungeon, and blatant favoritism. Him allowing his spy to screw up the teachings of children is just crap. Now I'm not talking about fics where he knows Snape is screwy, and is letting him do it b/c he needs him as a spy.

I'm talking fics that have Snape flat out attacking kids, or screwing up lethal potions to try to give to Harry, and the author writes Dumble's reaction to it, totally ignores it. Dumbles can see the memory in a pensive, and it'll still be shrugged off.
