The fact that I spend literally 16+ hours a day on the computer--dorm room door open and all--is quite public.

The fact that I read and review "amateur fiction" is public.

The fact that I know way the hell too much about the HP world, and can hold on a conversation for hours about it, is also public.

Surprisingly, no one's ever seemed to figure out that I read HP fanfiction...

Meh. 9/10 people I know have no idea what fanfiction is. Hell, it's probably more than that. >_>

I went public and my friends thought I was crazy. They all read the books, but apparently, if it isn't "real" as they very eloquently put it, there is no point in reading it.

Huh, from what I've read of this thread a lot of people think of saying they reading or write fanfiction is like coming out of the closet. For me it's actually quite public, there are some people who tease me about it but I just ignore them and they've always been dickheads to me so them knowing I read or write fanfiction won't make a difference.

But there are others who ask me if I can give them some good stories to read or if I have written anything good. I have gotten a lot of people onto reading fanfiction and writing it.

I have met four other people in my year level who read HP fanfiction but one other person who writes it. This is pretty impressive considering that there are only 40 in my year level.

You should start a club to discuss the merits of Harry shaving Draco's sweaty crack hair before he dives in. You'd be sooooooooo popular, like totally.

I talk about it with my close friends, largely because many of them have written (or still write) fanfiction themselves, which was a little weird.

And my parents know, which was fun. Mum's response? "You write fanfiction? Oh, you should try and get that published!"

Actually, anybody who likes Twilight is automatically disliked. We call them Twi-Hards or Re-twards. Or just fuckheads, depends on how creative you are.

Just a question, I know how against m/m slash nearly everyone is on this forum but what abbout femslash?

Meh. Depends on whether Harry is part of the action.

What are your thoughts on Harry/Parvati/Parvati? :D

    Honestly, who gives a shit?

If it's a smut story, then whatever; getting choosy about hetero/homo in smut is like discussing which Hooters has better wings.

In a real story, if the actual plot is focused and well-developed, we can ignore a lot of things - even if Harry chooses to wildly suck Cho's massive cock.

    <_<
    >_>

I'll make it easy for you: just assume any slash that you recommend will suck. Therefore, don't recommend it.

Mostly private. Only people who knows are my parents and two close friends but other than that nobody knows. I tried to keep it hidden from them but they're usually the only ones who go on my computer

After a few nanoseconds, I was concentrating on the fact they misspelled 'wrong'.

I just started reading fanfiction stories. Most of my friends don't know, they just think I'm reading some college book online.

I'm pretty public about my fanfic addiciton, meaning that most if not all of my friends know about. They also have the decency not to say a word against it.

Though, I'm honestly considering becoming more private about it because of when the 35 year old guy next to me in my Comparative Religious Thought class started quoting erotic-furry-spacetravel fanfic one-liners to me...hmm...

I read fanfictions quite a bit and I suppose it's private. A few of my friends know that I read but then they don't really care. To them, as long as I show up on DOTA night, they won't give a rat's ass.

I am terrified of people knowing about it, and when a relative asks me about it I feel really uncomfortable. I never life to talk about it. It is embarrassing though. Especially since most of it sucks.

A couple of my friends know that I read fanfiction, but they really give a crap unless I bring it up. So, it's on the down low for now.
