Is it just me or is something wrong with FF.net's search engine since the weekend? The amount of new updated stories went far below the normal amount since then.

 

I don't know about the search engine, but I went to update on Sunday, and just got an error message. Don't know about how long that's been going; as far as I know it's still the case.

Edit: just checked; still down.

 

I've been getting this since Saturday night and I think its very widespread since the update rate on ffn has slowed down tremendously. DBZ usually gets around two pages worth of fics a day and right now there's fics that were updated 2 days ago on the front page.

 

Same thing with Harry Potter; only a fraction of the stories usually seen have been uploaded/updated recently. (Even if it is mostly all poorly written shit/slash).

They might be doing emergency maintainance or upgrades.

 

A full week and it's still down. This on top of the editing issues, I'm starting to wonder if the admin all died.

 

It is, indeed, piss poor. However! A friend has discovered a trick to help those who want to update - no idea how it affects the search function, but at least those who have you on alert etc can read.

If you're uploading a new story, try uploading into a less popular category (for instance, my friend uploaded his Doctor Who fic into the Doc Martin category), then change category once it's uploaded.

If you want to add a new chapter, and you're getting this error message:

Then change 'property' in the link to 'content', and Bob's your uncle. Worked for me, at least.

Also, is it just me or are the Story Alerts fucked up too? They arrive like two days later! Come on, WTF! I need my daily dose of fiction!

Mine have been working fine. And the story update problem has been fixed, as far as I can see.

 

It's broken again. No updates for about a day I suppose.

 

I thought I messed up something, it happened just as I updated my story. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.

 

I've been getting this for the past five hours. Considering I had no new reviews since about 23 00 last night, I assume it went down at around midnight.

Not that it mattered much, but it occured earlier, about 8 or 9 PM. At least, that's when I had the problem.

 

It's not letting me log-in right now on FFN.

 

Anyone else getting false story alerts? Pretty annoying.

Same problem here - been trying to upload my edited chapters since last night at around 7 or 8pm. D:

 

It worked earlier today, around 10, 11 am, but now it's down again. Can't log in to access functions.

 

...and it's back down. Again.
