Is it not possible to block/report these people or something like that?
I mean, he's talking about raping and killing you on a fanfiction review, what the fuck is this?

 

Anonymous reviews, also FFN is literally run by one guy.

 

If he is a troll just ignore him. Nothing is more bothersome than wanting a reaction and not getting even a response. It's the principle behind the nice guy syndrome.

I don't know which one of my ex-girlfriends wrote this, but I've got a real good up and down game.

 

Found this when I looked at the reviews for "Time and Again." "Wandless Magic is widely practiced outside of Roman conquered countries, meaning outside of Western Europe, so all that effort spent on a wand was just a waste of time..."

 

I'm mostly just happy that I can evoke this much passion from a reader.

This is not necessarily true. I know a dude that likes to troll on the internet a lot and he doesn't give a shit if anyone responds or not. Otherwise he's just a normal person.

So overall, I agree with the idea that you should generally ignore trolls, but do it because they are a waste of your time, not to get some sort of payback on the troll. That's a waste of mental space.

 

This is a "review" of an Asoiaf SI fic I was reading, and what bugs me about it is they just use the review as a springboard to post their own embarrassing dialog that would "solve" the SI's problems.

I understand that generally FFN.net reviews can't be expected to have a high level of quality, but something about seeing this one really struck a nerve with me and annoyed me.

@Joe I think the inherent problem is an extremely diluted entitlement.

Don't get me wrong, I get @Sey 's point, you have sorta been writing the same genre with the same characters for a long while. I do that too. Personally, I think your stories are brilliant, and a great read.

You really just write whatever the fuck you want. Even if it's the same premise with the same characters, /shrugs/ who cares? If it's well written there's nothing wrong with it.

P.S. I doubt @Sey wrote that review. Not a chance. The reviewer wasn't elegant enough. Reviewer really rambled tbh.

@Sey does have a point, but he didn't intend insult toward you. The reviewer on FFN did.

I think it's comparable to saying Stephen King is a shit writer because he only really writes horror novels.
