    What the fork does "them" refer to? Elements of canon? Characters? Also, I am continually exasperated at the inability of some writers to correctly distinguish between "canon" and "cannon." Native speaker or not, that is just something you should get right, especially when it is part of your story‘s first impression.

    I loved how they didn't waste any time and got right to it. Snape is now a panther, of all things. And wild animals are also familiars and they can bond with people. That's the funniest way I've seen someone pair Snape with Hermione. Also, why is she older in this story? It's Harry's 5th year. Does it mean he's older too, but he got held back? :O

    I guess she'd be 16 for almost all of 5th year so technically that's "of age" in England. Still shouldn't be written.
