What I found a common theory for Snape, used often in Severitus stories is that Snape covers his hair in slime to prevent it from getting damaged by the poisonous potion fumes.

What was rather disgusting and annoying was that Harry, wishing to be all like pseudo daddy covered his own hair in the same slime.

Disgusting, really. Snape is merely a frustrated individual, who clearly dislikes teaching. He would have been better off in Spinner's End, inventing new potions and tormenting Wormtail rather than teach Potions.

 

Pomade is a reasonable theory. Not to keep his hair from being damaged, but to keep it from falling into potions and causing explosions.

Demon God of Chaos was also a member here at some point, apparently. From what I've come to understand, Vash doesn't much like him.

 

He constantly deprecated himself to induce praise, had a poll asking people's opinion on the quality of his story, but the options were ambiguous. His harem and Hily's were over the top, and he's more stories than most authors have chapters on FFnet published. Pretty funny.

His yahoo group is the only one that hosts smut written by Shezza, though. That's his only saving grace.
