A clear winner in my book.

 

The author has a broad vocabulary, conveying at least the illusion of a good writing style. The thing is, the story up to the point I read, chapter three or something, is the standard Independent!Harry plotline. Knockturn Alley, a manic shopping spree culminating in Harry obtaining an exotic snake (naturally), and mage-sight.

When I say something is cliched I almost always mean it as an exaggeration to paint the story in the worst possible light.

But this author is something else, pursuing cliches months, if not years after they have fallen out of favor. I'm awed - the author must have carefully researched cliches so that he could use them to the last degree of unoriginality.

Pre-Slash? How many variations do people want lol.
