I think I may just stop being lazy and see if I can find where to get the Fate Stay Night UB visual novel. Because i'm honestly intrigued in the greater story here and while I am somewhat enjoying myself with the anime, the smaller details feel like they're being extremely glossed/skipped over.

 

There's a wiki. And an UBW movie that was freely available on youtube last time I checked.

 

If he's looking for more detail, then that UBW movie's worse than this show is. But the details he's looking for don't really add up to much, in my opinion.

 

True, I thought he was looking for the big picture.

 

Trying to make sense of the Nasuverse with the wiki will just leave you more confused.

 

Speaking of which, is there anyone who has read pretty much all the source material of the Nasuverse?

 

I really should get around to actually watching this. Didn't enjoy UBW in the VN and the movie was...well, a movie compressing a VN route. But I suspect about 95% of that is that the tsundere archetype annoys me and, well, Rin.

My vote: Play the VN, yes. The Nasuverse can be, hm, convoluted at the best of times.

 

You'd need to be able to read Japanese to truly get all the source material, right? I'm not even close counting just the translated parts though.

 

Let's see I watched Fate zero, garden of sinners and played the Fate Stay/Night VN, Played the Tsukihime, Kagetsu Tohya and Melty Blood.

I will play Hollow Atraxia and the new VN about Miss Blue eventually.

 

Hmm.. I've played Tsukihime all routes, F/SN all routes, read Fate/Zero, played Fate/Hollow and Melty Blood + reACT. I wasn't really into Kara no Kyoukai.

I think the best work amongst those were Tsukihime.. it's by far, the most dark and gruesome of his works.

Speaking of this episode, it was alright.. Again it lacked some details that gave us more insight to both Shirou and Rin's personality and the comedic relief were lacking if not completely missing.

My guess is that ufotable is trying to maintain the dark, grim atmosphere they have built up but it's not really working. F/SN is half-black and half-white.

 

That's a pretty good way of summarizing it. Half-black half-white. Does seem to be juggling dark elements while remaining light hearted in a way.

Also, i think this just confirmed that a 2nd Assassin is about to be put into play. Since Caster illegitimately summoned an Assassin class hero, Kirei is going to give that one kid an Assassin as it was never summoned by a Master.

Which is crazy since i guess this means Rider really was killed and it wasn't just Caster or someone else making it look like she was.

 

This is how you tell someone who hasn't watched the old FSN. Or read the wiki.

Did false Assassin die? Because for a guy with no true noble phantasm and not even a real hero, he was a real badass.

 

He hasn't yet in the anime. And yea he is a major fucking badass. Like holy shit, i'd enjoy watching an anime of his life with him as the main character.

Edit: Oh shit, new episode is out didn't realize. Haven't watched it yet so possibly disregard my comment.

 

I'm not sure how interesting it'd be to watch a guy spend his whole life trying and failing to cut a bird with a sword, until he finally succeeds.
