What is your favorite quote from the books? Mine is, "Ow, Fred, you just appeared on my Knees." Fred replies, "Yeah well it's harder in the dark." My reaction is duh. Heh, what are you gonna do about it. Any way that's all for now.

From a philosophical POV, all of Dumbledore's quotes are very good. I especially like the one in which he says »

"The truth. It is a beautiful and terrible thing, and should therefore be treated with great caution."

How very true it is. On the other hand, the best overall I think is »

"Hello, Harry," said George, beaming at him. "We thought we heard your dulcet tones."
"You don't want to bottle up your anger like that, Harry, let it all out," said Fred, also beaming. "There might be a couple of people fifty miles away who didn't hear you."

This one made me laughing like mad.

I must allways laugh when I read this 2:

"Now, if you two don't mind, I'm going to bed before either of you come up with another clever idea to get us killed. Or worse, expelled."
"She needs to sort out her priorities."
    - Hermione and Ron, "The Philosopher's Stone"

'I don't believe it! I don't believe it! Oh, Ron, how wonderful! A prefect! That's everyone in the family!'
'What are Fred and I, next-door neighbours?' said George indignantly… (OP9)

    Re: What about Sirius?

One order of seriously Sirius quote:

These 2 are amoung my favs:

"I'll look for him later, I expect I'll find him upstairs crying his eyes out over my mother's old bloomers or something...Of course, he might have crawled up into the airing cupboard and died...But I mustn't get my hopes up..."

    and

"If you made a better rat than a human, that's not much to boast about."

    As for Harry:

"I don't go looking for trouble. Trouble usually finds me."

"Are you insane? Of course I want to leave the Dursleys! Have you got a house? When can I move in?"

"You can't give a Dementor the old one-two!"

My all time fav however is Gred and Forge's:

"Make way for the heir of Slytherin, seriously evil wizard [Harry] coming through..."

    My favorite quote

My favorite quote has to be-
"panting, harry fell forwards over the hydrangea bush, straightened up and stared around. there were several faces peering through various nearby windows. harry stuffed his wand hastily back into his jeans and tried to look innocent."
    insinuations, insinuations

    lol :)

Yes, one can insinuate many things from that.

    However here are mine

"To the well organized mind Death is but the next great adventure."

    -Dumbledore, almost every book.

    "We attacked a teacher"

-Hermione Granger in PoA after hexing Snape.

"His eyes are as green as a fresh-pickled toad."

-Ginny Weasley (via Dwarf proxy) in CoS, proving once and for all that not only is she a stalker, but her love poems suck. I pity Voldemort for having to put up with her writing in his evil diary.

Well, mine is my former sig:

"If you want to know what a man's like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals."

    Sirius Black

But some of Harry's a quite good too:

"I don't know who Maxime thinks she's kidding. If Hagrid's half-giant, she definitely is. Big bones... the only thing that's got bigger bones than her is a dinosaur."

"He [Sirius] was my mum and dad's best friend. He's a convicted murderer, but he's broken out of wizard prison and he's on the run. He likes to keep in touch with me, though...keep up with news...check if I'm happy..."

"Well, I had one [A Dream] that I was playing Quidditch the other night," said Ron, screwing up his face in an effort to remember. "What do you think that means?"
"Probably that you're going to be eaten by a giant marshmallow or something," said Harry, turning the pages of The Dream Oracle without interest.

"Harry, don't go picking a row with Malfoy, don't forget, he's a prefect now, he could make life difficult for you..."
"Wow, I wonder what it'd be like to have a difficult life?" said Harry sarcastically.

"How long have you been 'Big D' then?" said Harry.
"Shut it," snarled Dudley, turning away again.
"Cool name," said Harry, grinning, "but you'll always be Ickle Diddykins to me."
    "Shut your face."
"You don't tell her [Aunt Petunia] to shut her face. What about 'popkin' and 'Dinky Diddydums,' can I use them then?"

"Why were you lurking under our window?"
"Yes -- yes, good point, Petunia! What were you doing under our windows, boy?"
"Listening to the news," said Harry in a resigned voice.
His aunt and uncle exchanged looks of outrage.
    "Listening to the news! Again?"
"Well, it changes every day, you see," said Harry.

He is quite the sarcastic kid, aint he?

Yep, when he's not pining away for some redheaded whore, or wanking himself off to Quidditch, he can be sarcastic from time to time

Sadly it's few and far inbetween, which leaves him being an annoying bastard most of he time

Of course he can't be sarcastic all the time or else his power to love would weakened.

    fave quote

    "Arthur, is that you?"
"Yes," came Mr. Weasley's weary voice. "But I would say that even if I were a Death Eater, dear. Ask the question!"
    "Oh, honestly..."
    "Molly!"
"All right, all right... What is your dearest ambition?"
"To find out how airplanes stay up."
Mrs. Weasley nodded and turned the doorknob, but apparently Mr. Weasley was holding tight to it on the other side, because the door remained firmly shut.
"Molly! I've got to ask you your question first!"
"Arthur, really, this is just silly..."
"What do you like me to call you when we're alone together?"
Even by the dim light of the lantern Harry could tell that Mrs. Weasley had turned bright red; he himself felt suddenly warm around the ears and neck, and hastily gulped soup, clattering his spoon as loudly as he could against the bowl.
"Mollywobbles," whispered a mortified Mrs. Weasley into the crack at the edge of the door.

Nah this can't be the first the time he was an unwilling observer of the strange Weasley mating rituals.
