I was curious to what good fics are out there that have a very manipulative Dumbledore, or even a good old plain evil one. I keep reading crap fics with Dumbledore being far to obvious in what he is doing, or where he is just plain evil and no one can seem to see it.

I mainly liked it because it views the situation differently from the common Dumble where he is doing everything for his own good. In this he can honestly say it was all for the greater good, but he has for so long been fighting against evil, he is prepared to do whatever it takes.

Anyway, IP's is quite good, Shezza's in Future Remapped is excellent though I don't remember if he was truly manipulative.

He's blackmailed by Snape for starting WW1. Slightly shifty but turns good in the end.

Allusions of Power by ReflectionsOfReality - T
He's truly evil, but not an idiot. He's using some sort of mental control on everybody - and Harry is the only one aware of this. Brilliant.

Love and Betrayal by feanor - T
Dumbledore the matchmaker. Slightly unstable, but far from a fool.

The Rise of Scorpion Sorcerer by Vorlon666
He's planning to kill Voldemort by sacrificing Harry. Some bashing, but he's far from stupid.

Again, I have to say that Vorlon's Dumbledore suffers from the usual idiot syndrome. I mean, he openly conspires with Snape against Harry and challenges the boy to duel him in front of the entire school. Not exactly subtle manipulation or anything in line with how Albus acts in canon. Besides, I can tolerate manipulation, but Evil!Dumbledore is generally MANY steps too far over the line.

I'd highly advise you to lurk a lot more. Read some of the stickies. See how well other oblivious newbies have done when they violated a forum rule (like the one about necroing threads) out of either ignorance or trolling.
