Eh, I agree with you, but only to an extent. I'm not bothered as much by the fact that Kishimoto sometimes focuses on characters other than Naruto, as by the fact that lately (as in, the last several arcs, and aside from the training with Kakashi, really all of PTS), he hasn't focused on Naruto, the titular character of the story, at all. I don't mind characters like Kakashi, Sakura and Sasuke (Shikamaru I do mind, to Hell with him) getting their moments in the spotlight, but I still want the main character to be the star of the show. Right now, and pretty much for a good time leading up to right now, Naruto hasn't been.

 

Think of it this way. If Naruto were Harry Potter, the way the manga is currently being told, Draco Malfoy would be the main character and Harry is left on the sidelines, with little to no development outside of learning one new spell and crying that Draco hasn't turned to the Light yet. See why I don't like it yet?

You'd have to be more specific, she cries about him a lot >_>. Especially in part I. On the Japanese words... well it is a Japanese show, and the dubbed version pretty much suck, though I haven't seen the Danish version so I wouldn't know about that one.

You guys are all missing the point. Why would Itachi fight Sasuke? Why would he go to these lengths to wear a facade so deep, he goes against the Kohono and the Akatsuki? It's interesting isn't it?

Why would he do all these things when he could just turn back on the Akatsuki and help sasuke and naruto?

 

To show everyone how fucking superior he is, also to gauge his own strength.

The façade ruined his character. Itachi literally stopped being interesting the instant that happened. Suddenly, instead of being a badass, selfish, psychopathic bastard, he's a good guy? Fuck that. I don't care why he went to those lengths, because you know what? The answer is simple. He was actually kind of complex before, but now? He's just "loyal ninja doing his job" number 6514163.

Because he's loyal. Seriously, that's it. That's the only reason he did that. He's loyal, and he's strong.

Itachi was cool before, now he's pathetic. Naruto is okay, but he seriously should have gotten stronger in the timeskip. Sasuke was okay before the cursed seal, now he's - you guessed it - pathetic.

The characters I like in that anime are Haku, Zabuza, Rock Lee, Kin, Shikamaru, Tayuya, Shino, Hayate, Gai, and most of the completely undeveloped women.

EDIT: Naruto does have potential to be awesome, but as it stands, I am fairly neutral towards him.

Unfortunately the kunoichi in Naruto suck. Anko and Uzuki Yuugao had potential, but at this stage they are pretty much just filler. Sakura, Hinata and Ino are the epitome of uselessness.

Rasengan was deadly enough at stage one and making bigger versions is just silly. I really can't see how Naruto is going to defeat Madara and Pein with bigger rasengan, Pein would just eat it and it would just go through Madara.

 

One of the most recent chapters of Naruto redeemed Itachi by suggesting his betrayal was a mission by one of Konoha's higher ups.

 

Still, partaking in genocide doesn't really constitute as 'good'.

 

But the thing is, he was just doing his job. He wasn't doing it for selfish reasons, he was doing it for the village. He's no saint, but he's not really a villain (unless Konoha itself becomes a villain, I guess) anymore. Just a tool of the village, like any "good shinobi" should be.

 

Naruto, its his story, everyone else is a sidekick.

 

If Itachi is a good guy I guess the best route to go would be that either Sandaime or Danzou ordered Itachi to massacre his clan; preferably Sandaime. It would be cool if Kishi shows that even the kind old leader is capable of being ruthless....though, I shudder at the amount of Manipulative!Sandaime fics that may pop up.

 

He should be manipulative. He's the leader of a fucking ninja village.

When the hell did you even consider ninja's as good guys. Especially Konoho.

Are you even thinking right? Do you even know what the rasangan does? Also, this story isn't NC-17. Otherwise it would have shown the full potential of the characters. The female ninja's are meant to be used as sex puppets to finish there missions but thats just there side missions. There main missions just like any other ninja's, warriors in battle. It's ANBU who does the assassinations, thievery etc, etc...

No not really. ANBU does the more tricky job's or the one's that no one needs to know about like the Uchiha massacre.

Through Tsunade it is proven that women can be something more than as you describe...It is just Kishi spends so much time wanking over Sasuke he forgot about. Sakura had her moment with Sasori and since then she had been reduced to a fucking cheerleader like in part 1. Seems to me that Kishi was just dieing to fuck up her character development which at this point is still the best character development we have had so far.

BTW rasengan is useless against Pein as he can absorb it with his fat body and it would just go through Madara with his space time ninjutsu.
