i used to get those pop adds from ff.net but my firefox web browser blocks them.

 

That's probably why I'm not getting them either. I'm using firefox as well.

 

Get the firefox extension called adblock plus and filterset.g and you won't have this problem.

Firefox pwns all.

 

Wanna see the ad? Log in to your ff.net account. And then click "Stats" on the left menu (maybe you need to have fic posted, not certain). Most times it gives me the 10 second ad. You can skip it, you can ignore it, etc... And it doesn't seem to show up again until a long while later.

But for everything that site gives us for free, I hardly think these ads are worth complaining over. Hell most news websites have ads all down the side and in the middle of articles. I've always been surprised at how few ads fanfiction.net has, and how easy it is to ignore them. Let alone the simple drop-down option adblocker if you prefer to read without any ads.

 

There is one ad that annoys me on all of fanfiction.net. One of the banner ads sometimes in the past have been this annoying fly that buzzes as your browsing in an attempt to make you click the banner. It annoys me...greatly.

 

Adblock is such a wonderful thing . I haven't seen an advert on ff.net since I started using Firefox. Even the advert that's supposed to show up when you go onto the stats page doesn't show up for me, though I do have to skip the page because I just get a white page.

 

That is exactly what happens to me, and I use FireFox as well.

The only problem is, I have to Whitelist ff.net to get the site to work right. Without it, Profile pages dont work, including stories they have written, and their favorites. Cant view em. This causes some ads to be seen.
