So, my first post, how 'bout that?

Anyway, I have been searching for a fic(and for a few hours as well) I can remember almost everything but the name of and it keeps escaping me every time I think I have it on the tip of my tongue!

The fic is set at the end of HPB and everything is canon right up to the Astronomy Tower scene, the premise of the story is that Dumbledore, due to either the potion from Voldemort's Cave, the curse on his hand caused by putting on the Ressurection Stone, maybe a combination of both, had slightly dulled reflexes was unable to hit harry or was incapable of putting the full amount of power behind the Full Body-Bind that would have kept Harry immobile under the Invisibility Cloak(I am unsure which one it was since the last time I read it I was on an Archive Binge and some details are rather hazy) which caused Harry to either dodge or overpower it in a fit of accidental magic brought on by all the emotional stress and sudden surprise.

What ends up happening is that Draco disarms Dumbledore, but as he catches the wand Harry comes out from beneath the Invisibility Cloak (while Dumbledore is yelling at him to stop) and hits him an expelliarmus hard enough to send him flying over the edge of the tower.

Harry ends up catching the Elder Wand and(subconciously) pocketing his own, which is a big plot point since the author decided to ignore the last book and make the hollows decidedly more. . . .malevolent? ominous? capable of influencing people? I can't seem to remember. At this point Death Eaters are starting to head to the Astronomy Tower.

The first of whom to arrive is Bellatrix who ends up casting the Cruciatus at harry after a bit of taunting, but has harry reflect it back at her (which I believe sparked a somewhat heated arguement on the thread about which Unforgivables are unblockable) which ends up incapacitating her right before the other Death Eaters arrive.

When they finally do arrive things proceed about the same as canon in terms of dialogue(with a bit of Dumbledores humor thrown in if I remember correctly, something about Fenrir eating him, but him being too stringy) until Snape is about to kill Dumbledore, which causes things to become rather messy as Harry(who is still being slightly influenced by the Elder Wand) casts a super-charged Incendio which ends up killing many of the Death Eaters(and partialy destroying the top half of the tower) except Snape, and someone named Yaxley(not sure about this) who immediatly flees Hogwarts.

At this point Dumbledore has to try(very hard) to dissuade Harry from trying to kill Snape(again) and has them go to his office where he ends up explaining to Harry about how he knew Draco was trying to kill him, how he planned of sparing Draco from damaging his soul/innocence/something, his plan to be killed by Snape and end the power of the Elder Wand once and for all since he only had a limited time left anyway, all of which was completely and utterly destroyed by Harry disarming/killing Draco and keeping Snape from killing him.

He proceeds ask Harry why he is using the Elder Wand, to which harry says that it "Feels right" or some variation thereof, at which point Dumbledore goes through a lengthy explanation of how he aquired the wand, the history behind it(including reading the Story of the Three Brothers), and how it can influence people, and finally ending it all with an exclamation of how, since all the plans they had at that point are destroyed, Harry will have to be trained in magic now, along with how to resist the influence of the Elder wand.

Sorry about the wall of text, but any help would be greatly appreciated since this has been driving me crazy for many hours and I just can't seem to remember where I have read it before (damnable archive binges and their habit of making me lose track of interesting/entertaining stories!).

Edit: Sorry about it being unreadable, sometimes when I click anything it selects all the text, which apparently got changed as well.

Edit2: Well this is embarassing, apparently I accidentaly hit spell check when posting last night and it changed some of the words.

    Sincerely,
    Azathoth

Is there any good reason for formatting text in a weird way, making it significantly less readable?

In my experience, it does that when you copy and paste text from a word document.

    Yay! :D

I was quite annoyed when after searching through nearly all of the forums I have visited in the last few months or so(along with hundreds of threads, which was quite tedious) and finally narrowing it down to DLP that I was unable to find the story. Which, as I can finally see, is because I was searching in the wrong part of the forum!

Anyway, the quick reply and help in finding this story is, as was said in the opening post, greatly appreciated.

    Sincerely,
    Azathoth
