Hey all,
So, apparently Fictionalley is in the running for the $25,000 award category this month in one of Pepsi's contests. I'm thinking that we should vote for it (daily) and help them out. Several reasons for this.

Despite the issues with fictionalley, they are still a fanfic community and they aren't ff.net. They actually use things like beta-readers and standards (which is no guarantee of quality writing and plot, I know) and I stand with them on that. Frankly, if they get the money, they might blow some new life into the fanfiction community. 25k is some serious cash and I'm thinking that with the large number of quality writers we have on site that some of the cash might end up benefiting us as well.

tl;dr : click the link, vote for fictionalley to revive fanfiction and hopefully get us paid.

Also, they have other plans for the money beyond hosting costs.

I, for one, would love to see them update things...currently, FA is a little bit archaic; it desperately needs a refresh. The other stuff they want to do is admirable, too.

I doubt the effort will succeed, but I'll certainly try my best to vote as much as possible for them.

 

Oh man... I just looked at the threads considered similar to this one. It included things like "US Government attempting to take over the internet" and "What the hell happened to Fictionalley?"
