Is it just me or does FicWad have no HP fics from after 2005 on it just now?

And is it just me or has FicWad been down more than its been up recently?

I checked and it looks like there are at least some from 2006 and 2007

Not sure if ficwad has had very bad uptimes, could be they are going through major changes. If you recall recently there was hosting provider issues, where the database was being worked on and many stories were down for awhile.

There are tons over 2005. It isn't getting stories like FFN does, but who else gets that many? No one.

And yes, FicWad is down at least seven times a day. No shit. It's pathetic.

FicWad really needs an upgrade on its servers doesn't it?

Ah well hopefully that will be fixed soon.

Is it it just me or is the amount of high quality fics slowing down alot lately?

FicWad is in need of a serious upgrade!

The 2005 fics seemed to get bumped to the top while they were fixing some things. The newer ones are all back now.

There's still the issue of pages not loading, I think they said it was CPU load, which was one of the reasons for the recent updating/streamlining.

In somewhat related news: WTF is up with FFN? They changed something so that every time you grab a story with De-FFNet-izer, the story's title is preceded with "anFiction.Net - " and followed by ", a Harry Potter fanfic."

Gah. A few more tedious keystrokes to aggravate my wrist.

As if filtering out the slash wasn't tedious enough. Actually, I constantly wonder why they don't simply require authors to check a box that says 'Slash' and then allow you to filter them out when you're browsing for stories. It would probably save them bandwidth in the long run and it would cut down on the multiple homicides committed by frustrated FFN visitors.

And another box for Hr/SS and Hr/DM. By all that's Harry, er, holy, let me filter away these nightmares.

I was wondering about that, why they had a bunch of one-shots and song fics.
I guess all the old shit got bumped or something.

I haven't gotten the server down message in 4 hours.

Considering I viewed 20 odd pages that seemed good compared to other times.

Yeah. There have been a few changes over the last few weeks.

Upgraded search engine, which is much better than before. Heaps easier to find shit now.

Several changed/new/removed genre's. There is Hurt/Comfort, Western, Family and Crime now. Humor and Parody have been split. Action is no longer there, it's just plain Adventure.

You can now add authors to favorites directly from their profile page and it also tells you how many stories they have at the top, along with what fandoms these stories are in.

And, of course, that 'a Harry Potter fanfic' appears on the window bar at the top, or whatever fandom you happen to be looking at.
It's been like that for ages. More than a year.
