A third tweet with a less interesting screen says 'Noctis shows off his aerial blade work. Each weapon type has a host of unique actions, combos and magic attacks.'

WOW. I'm officially hyped as fuck. Brief recap:

Game is out September 30.

Another demo out tonight called 'Platinum Demo' where you play as young Noctis travelling around the city with Carbuncle. It also seems to include the Iron Giant battle with presumably the final combat system in place (inc magic).

There will be a 5 episode anime detailing the history of the relationship between Noctis, Gladius, Ignis and Prompto called Brotherhood. Episode 1 available now, all 5 out before launch.

The game is you escaping the city and making your way to your betrothed Luna. They've made a feature length CGI movie called Kingsglaive that'll detail what's going on at home after Noctis escapes (so timeline is during the game). It stars Lena Heady as Luna (which will be super fucking weird if she's not her in the game too), Sean Bean as Regis and Aron Paul as the main protagonist 'Nyx', one of the titular Kingsglaive. Also out before the game.

They also revealed the mini game. It'll also be coming out on mobile before release. Didn't get a good look, but looked like a bullet hell?

PS the Brotherhood anime is fun. Noctis casually shoving those veggies onto Ignis' plate XD.

 

Luckily the sale is delayed in Aus. Should have time.

My projector is fucked up, so I'll probably wait until its fixed before watching (and playing the new demo). Are they 20 minutes long? Brotherhood, I mean.

 

Pretty much this, for me. I can wait for a PC version with how much stuff I already have to complete.

Hell, I can't even complete Stardew cause I spend my time playing Starcraft.


Hope they continue to develop and put more emphasis on PC as time goes on. With the technology we have now, it's gotta be at the point where this can become the standard.

Dude. The car.

Looks like it has potential to be the best, most marketable game ever created by Square(-Enix). They are doing one hell of a promotional campaign for it, so they must think so as well.

 

Do we have info on the character customisation/levelling system?

 

Not a peep. They've been very tight-lipped with actual mechanics. Even the Platinum demo is only suppossed too be showing off the technical capabilities of the game and acclimate people too the basics off the 'new' gaemplay.

 

So we all know that with Sean Bean voicing King Regis in Kingsglaive, he's got no shot at surviving.

 

About that. I'm a bit annoyed that Headey, Bean and Paul won't be reprising their roles in the game.

They'll just sound wrong now regardless now that I have a different voice in my head for them going in.

 

Played the demo, gritting my teeth through my busted projector, and liked it for what it was.

The content in it is whatever. You walk around, smacking things with your toy weapons before turning into adult Noct and taking on an Iron Giant.

It was a little framey at points, but I liked how everything controlled. The camera feels smooth, locking on and switching targets is easy and transitioning from defence to attack while switching weapons to augment combos felt satisfying.

A lot of this could have been right from Duscae 2.0,but I've never played it so I dunno.

Btw, can a mod change this thread's name please? Just make it the 'Final Fantasy XV' thread or whatever?

 

The input lag was atrocious, camera stutter and distance still need adjusting, aliasing was pretty yucky, animations were clunky, and newer combat felt a bit like a lame duck KH, but yeah it wasn't too bad, especially considering this was just a half-baked tech demo not indicative of the final product.
