I don't know what I'm doing! This seems good?

As much as I dislike Nintendo's games lately, FE has always been a series I loved (just not enough to buy a console to play just it). This seems okay, simple obviously, but quick, fun and silky smooth (looking at you Hearthstone, you clunky fucking mess).

I think i got pretty lucky with heroes. I've spent a lot of my orbs on perma xp boosts in my cattle too. Seems important?

    Anyone else playing?

I wasn't aware of it - is it a tactical RPG like the other games? Because those were fun.

Yes, it's a simplified version of the regular Fire Emblem games. They've bared down some of the mechanics, and limited the map size (and number of units).

It's a F2P gacha model though, so it's not going to be for everyone.

I've been playing since launch. My friend code is 4061965746 if anyone else is playing - add me!

Had some bad luck with my pulls - my best unit is a 5* (male) Robin, and a couple of ok 4*.

I got a 5* Marth too. There's a bunch of other 4* I have that seem like they're big from more recent games? I just don't know them, like Donnel, for instance.

As someone who's dropped $40 on it, you absolutely don't need to - at least at the point I'm up to. Nothing is super hard and you can grind in the training tower. I'd probably recommend upgrading your castle to max before buying heroes though.

You get one of the orb currencies (the paid one) after every story mission. 20 will get you 5 heroes (if you commit to those 5. They cost 5, 4, 4, 4, 3 each, or 5 each if you only buy one at a time).

Is rolling with orbs the only way to get new heroes?

So far, yes (for 3*-5* heroes).

You can (eventually) promote all of your heroes to 5* though. However there is a currency bottleneck there (not unexpected) such that it currently will probably take 4-5 weeks to promote a single unit from 4* to 5* (or 10 units from 3* to 4*).

There is currently a daily rotation of a special map, that gives out 1* and 2* versions of a hero. I'd expect to see higher rarities as the game goes on though, as well as additional special events that give out heroes.

Google informs me that you can continually 'reset' your game when you first roll your initial 5 heroes over and over until you get at least one 5* to start with. Google also confirms that spending a few orbs upgrading your castle at the start is a good idea, because it gives you a base 40% EXP boost.

I upgraded my castle straight to 100% before summoning heroes, the first heroes seem adequate for anything the game throws at me.

The stamina recovery time seems really sufficient unlike most of these mobile games of similar ilk, I don't think I've dropped below 40 or so playing the campaign yet. I haven't gotten that far into the game and every mission/training hall thing is relatively cheap stamina wise, I'm not sure how hard that will scale getting into more difficult content. I think the fact that combat takes slighter longer because of the strategy and moves involved it might give off a false sense of faster stamina recovery, but really your combat is just taking longer. Not a bad thing.

At it's heart though this is just another summoning game where someone who drops money will have way better heroes unless you play every day for a year straight or you have the extreme RNG god in your favor. Exhibit A) Hugplux.

However unlike other similar games on mobile there is strategy involved in the combat beyond just picking a good lineup for your heroes. There is no RNG factor either so far from what I understand, your units do set damage to other units depending on levels, stats, types, etc. No relying on luck for a big hit or a certain unit to make a move that never does until it is too late. You're in control.

But yeah, to be competitive it's still a pay to win or play everyday for ages to catch up to the people who will drop the money now. Good time waster if you can resist that temptation to drop money. I have resisted for now but Camilla is calling me.

I haven't played Fire Emblem before, this is just a fun little mobile game by itself, previous knowledge a plus I guess? Very enjoyable so far.

When you get to later chapters and higher difficulties, missions start costing more stamina. I still have 9 stamina postions that completely restore my stamina (from quests I think), so there's that.

If you're desperate to play though, and are low on stamina just level up lowbie heroes on easier maps that cost 1-3 stamina.

Don't link your Nintendo account if you want to do that reroll trick.

It's a pretty fun waste of time. Working my way through the lunatic campaign now.

When I was signing up I'm pretty sure they said you could. Not 100% sure but I think so.

Summoned 40 heroes and still don't have a single healer.

Up to the last chapter and then I'll start the Lunatic campaign. Sitting on Cordelia, Owain, Hawkeye and Eliwood as my main team. It's a fun time waster, I'll probably drop it soon though.

Yeah. The point of not linking is deleting and reinstalling the app doesn't save the progress, so you play through the tutorial and and just reroll.

    Once you're satisfied, just link.

So I got 5* Lyn and a 5* Marth which is pretty decent. Though the game feels very limiting with the 4 character limit. Especially because both my 5* are sword users and I don't have a good great axe or green user. Sad times.

Anyway add me if you want even though I'm not entirely sure what adding friends does. 9499846188

I downloaded this today and it seems to be a lot of fun. Got 4* Corrin and Barst and 3* Draug and Clarine. Debating rerolling for a 5*.
They're not 5* but they have good skills. Corrin debuffs atk and spd. Draug and Barst have brave weps although it costs 200 sp for Draug and his godawful 1 move.
I hate these f2p mobile games usually, but it's been fun so far
