Unique premise and an enjoyable read. The stilted language prevented a 5 star rating, but this is easily 4/5 work. Good find.

I would argue against this being in the library. It's got a lot of potential, but the story hasn't really gone anywhere. Give the tale a while to develop a plot and see if Marrs is doing anything outside of being just another harem fic.

I second the delay on posting for review. I am curently rating it at 4/5, but the next few chapters will tell, as Harry ends his training mode and we start getting plot/character chapters.

I fear I may be repeating what everyone is saying, but (here goes: ) this has a very interesting premise and it has great potential if a plot is developed (or maybe I'm just too blind to see one?). I found the description of the harem element of this AU to be completely barbaric, but am strangely intrigued. For now, a 3.5/5 (rounded up) with potential for 4.5 if a plot appears.

As for the potential dysfunction of the described society, I am completely surprised that the author could even make it sound logical, but that may just be me. Indeed, I shouldn't even try to apply logic to a HP fanfic...

This story is mildly interesting, but I can already tell that after several weeks I'll get some random update notice, go back to read it and find myself utterly bored. While the premise is unique, and the random boob groping is: hilarious/fucking weird/beginnings of creepy pedophilia (and that was my take on it as the story went on), I don't see the action picking up any time soon. Harry will stumble through first and second year, being all excited and grabbing adult tits left and right until he manages to realize that this new world sucks. And by then it will be mostly too late. Though perhaps the "plot" by Lilly will be somewhat interesting? we'll see. 3/5 for now, perhaps a higher rating if the story improves.

This story is original, quirky without being over-bearingly so, and the writing is easily library-worthy. I enjoyed reading it, and I eagerly await more. That, more than anything else, is the reason why I think it should be placed in the library; I believe that as this story grows, so will the readers' responses to it.

If I had to rate it, I'd say 4/5 does it justice, but I actually rated it a 5/5, as I truly think it should be in the library.

5/5 for what he has so far... Unfortunately and as noted by many others, Marrs for some reason does take extraordinary ideas and make them extraordinarily boring. Never pulling off the idea well....

    Also... Warning spoilerish...
As for the, ahhh its harem... I'm generally intrigued how well he's made a 'harem' a sickening idea in the mind of Harry so far in this story... And more and more it seems that Wizards are one step from being chattel in this story. Another ambitious project by this author, one that I hope he can fulfill...

4/5... Since I've been disappointed before. Though I'm very hopeful I won't be this time.

3/5, from what I‘ve seen so far. As an idea, it has the potential to be decent, but I think it more likely that it will crash and burn. Original, yes. Enjoyable? Not at all. The writing is good, and if it‘s handled well, my vote may rise, but I have my doubts.

Edit: My cellphone keeps finding new and interesting ways to annoy me.

Well a new chapter is out and all speculation that this might be some king of subversion of the soul bond trope can be laid to rest. Harry almost bonds to another aether just by being near them and neither have any control over it. So now there can be no question what happens when Luna enters the fic.

Also aethers are capable of killing someone just by looking at them. Plus it's not a normal death, but "true soul death".

Every Darth Marrs fic has a point where it turns to utter shite and for this one that point is now.

I cannot disagree more. From what we've been told repeatedly is that a wizard who bonds to early vegetables out. And writing Vegetable!Harry is something I can't really see Darth Mars doing (though, I could never have seen him write this fic in the first place). There are a lot of really well done ideas here and the execution is acceptable. Considering everything right now, I'm actually going to go so far as to say I like it.
    4/5.

I'm surprised this story actually made it into the library. I don't know if it's because people are just desperate for something to read during this drought of good fics, so mediocre fics like this seem better, or something else. This isn't a good story, and I don't think he's written any particularly brilliant fics. Sure, sometimes he comes up with a decent idea or two, and his written isn't awful (pretty average in my opinion) but he always ruins it with something stupid, and this fic is no exception. It's pretty standard for this author, and I thought DLP was a bit beyond stuff like this.

I like it. The wimpy Harry is getting a little annoying and will hopefully segue into something a bit not-so-emotional. The adults are very competent, though you can see the plot guiding their actions at times.

The world is interesting enough, and I like what Voldemort was trying to do to their world.

So, good and bad. I'll give it a 3/5. Average rating for the library, but I'll personally still follow it.

Don't particularly think this should be in the Library, personally. Recycling Bin sounds more like it.

In the review responses he's explicitly said that there won't be any accidental bonding happening onscreen, and that Harry won't bond anyone until fifth year at the soonest (in the second book of the trilogy), so it won't be happening until Luna has been around for quite a while unless the pacing is really weird.

I think one of the structural things that derails DM's stories after a dozen or so chapters is that he writes ten or so chapters before posting, putting in a lot of thought in setting up his tales, then goes on the weekly update grind. The latter inevitably lends itself to formulaic, less polished, less well thought out prose. This hppened to the story of mine that he picked up and it seems to have happened here.

Worse than all of that is the hurt/comfort this is devolving into.

Would rather read Harry getting bummed by Snape than him sobbing about how he's a freak.

Also, it looks like Voldemort was the good guy of the series.

I don't mind that Voldemort is the good guy.

I mind that the author doesn't seem to recognize that. I mean, goddamn.
