    UPDATED

The more I read, the more I want Harry to say 'Fuck it' and join Voldemort.

    Edited it for you @deathinapinkboa.

Well, the clock has started. Now if only I actually had a clue how many more months it is until July 31, I would really appreciate it.
Still reading, still enjoying; though I was disappointed. I understand why he didn't post the sabbat meeting. Its supposed to be something Harry has no input or control over, and it dfinetly felt like that. But it didn't satisfy my curiosity in the slightest.

It's like you've been having sex for forty five minutes, feeling yourself coming closer to the crescendo every moment, until you suddenly blink --- and snap!, you're lying there exhausted, balls empty. And you've just been cheated out of an orgasm.

That's every Darth Marrs story I've read. This one included.

It was kind of refreshing to know that at least some people, at some point, rebelled against this fucked up system.

A question though. What's your opinion on this fic's Lily?

Oh man, I've really been liking the stuff about
    the wizarding america civil war.

Not sure how it eventually lead to such unpleasant eastern americans and how the story of
Tecumseh the 14 y/o brutal rapist makes sense,
but I'm really digging Harry's attempts to find the truth.

I tell you what I never could get into this story there was something about the first Ms. Figg scene that made me insta-close the tab and I don't often do that without checking to see if the next chapter is better.

Cmon, Mars, drop the anvil already. I know you want to finish your quidditch playoffs, but everyone else still reading this really wants to see the epic clusterfuck you've been building up for thirty chapters that'll happen when Harry either gets bonded or raises his flag in rebellion (or both!)

Just finished reading this yesterday, and it's pretty awesome, though some chapters could have used a bit more meat on their bones. Second year flew by so fast, and was a real bad case of too much telling, not enough showing. Also, there's been a little too much attention paid to Quidditch for my tastes, and few of those scenes seem to really impact the overall storyline, so they seem a bit extraneous.

The worldbuilding has been very good for the most part.

What is annoying me at the moment is that Harry is apparently going to bond with three witches, thus drastically reducing his power. What I really don't want to see is Harry playing second fiddle to Hermione, or Luna, or anyone else. The world that has been established here is one in which I think it'd be best if Harry never bonded. That said, Harry/Luna is one of my favourite pairings, so I'm a bit conflicted about my feelings on this matter.

The projected two sequels to this fic plus the author's disciplined updating schedule make me very happy.

At the moment, I'll give this fic 4/5 - could go up or down depending on what sort of path Harry goes down in the future.

I skipped most of the Quidditch bits near the start, but I enjoyed reading the actual game this time. Neat trick by Harry at the end and some great bits with Viktor.

Also that was the last Quidditch game! Yay!

Good ending too, looking forward to next week.

I'm just worried that it's going to be a "slow change from within" story; he's hinted at that in the author's notes and from Dumbledore's speech. It's a wonderful dystopia he's got going on, it would be a shame to waste it.

On the other hand prophecy hinted at something more drastic.

The frustrating part is that DM could go in so many awesome directions from here, but you just know in the end it's going to be Harry bonding with 4~ witches and changing the world through the power of love™!.

I mean how awesome would it be to see Harry, Dumbledore and Voldemort all team up to rebel against the system and see the interaction between them? I was kind of hoping Cedric would kick off a rebellion by kissing a guy or something in front of the crowd at the award ceremony.

I'm trying to have faith that things won't go to shit (I mean, I hate Luna as a character and I'm still reading because I like the world that much) but I have a feeling they will before Harry's deadline approaches.

Interesting ending there. It looked like Cedric was just as much a target as Harry was here, which originally lead me to believe that this was a coup attempt by some 'dark' coven to poach some young males (Harry particularly).

But I saw that Harry identified Crouch as having what is presumably Voldemort spirit possessing him, so maybe Cedric will be 'the spare' again.

Anyway, I hope that this is that point where shit finally turns up.

Awesome twist there with the Cup, it was foreshadowed just enough to be awesome and just not enough to be obvious. All and all it was a great chapter, Darth Mars really nailed Krum well in this story and it even made the quidditch section fun to read.

I'm actually hoping for a Harry and Voldemort team-up too, at least temporarily. I don't think that's the way the story will go though.

Voldemort hasn't just killed Harry's parents though, he also murdered Chastity Burbage, who both Harry and Dumbledore were very close to. I think it's just untenable.

Also Voldemort is a complete misogynist here. He wants to "put women in their place" and have men take the dominant role in society. Many of Harry's closest friends are girls and he won't be able to get behind that.

I'm more curious about what Dumbledore would do if Harry was found to be engaging in acts that challenge the system - "fighting it from without". But I imagine, as Dumbledore suggested, that Harry is more likely to change it from within.

Yeah, Voldemort hasn't shown any sign of wanting to make things better; he just wants to change who's in power. He's basically the equivalent of the lunatic fringe of feminists that want to castrate all men except for a select breeding stock, except he actually acts on his beliefs. If it wasn't for the Burbage thing Harry could potentially work with Voldemort in the short run, but he would hopefully quickly realize that he was no better than what he was fighting against.

I've had the impression that a witch doesn't have to draw on a lot of the wizard's power if they don't want to. Luna in particular can probably bond with him and both of them benefit, given their status as Aethers and Luna's own (presumable) dislike of the system.
