I recently Upgraded to Firefox 3.5.2, the newest available offer and ever since I have noticed that every time I exit Firefox and go to reopen it 10 or 20 minutes later, Windows pops a message saying Firefox is still running and then I have to manually kill the process through windows task manager.

Not sure if anyone else has this problem but its really fucking annoying and I wanted to know if any one knows any possible solution to this problem. Is it one of my add ons thats causing the problem or just a general glitch in 3.5.2?

Oh and problem also occurs if I close Firefox, put my computer to sleep or hibernate, turn on again and it still says Firefox is running.

I had what you describe happen once, a few days ago on my XP rig. Strangely, since I have install vista, it hasn't happened yet (jinx). Though this probably doesn't help you.

Try seeing if this web page has any information that might help you.

Check task manager after you close firefox next time.

I used to get that a lot, but it seemed to stop when I started to close firefox by clicking File --> Exit.

I've been getting this, and pages reloading even after I hit stop. I don't know what they did but they better fucking fix it.

Try to disable your add-ons one by one and check if the problem occurs again.

You can also try to run FF in safe mode or make a new profile.

If that doesn't work: reinstall it or switch to Opera, Chrome or Safari.

I also use 3.5.2 (and XP SP3), the only problem i encountered so far is that several of my add-ons don't support the new version.

Edit: What kind of security software do you use? That can be the problem too.

I have had the problem too, but know that I have 3.5, the problem disappeared. I think you should do what eL Rey says. Also, try uninstalling and then reinstalling.

I'm running ESET Nod 32 Business Edition as my security suit. I don't think the problem is with that most likely its the add on software. I am checking those now see which one is causing the problem.

Sounds like your sys32 is corrupt.
