Hey guys,
I checked around the library and did some searching with little luck. I'm trying to find stories that have Prof. Flitwick in more prominent roles than he played in canon. He's an interesting character and is rarely developed in stories.

I'm particularly interested in finding a Flitwick mentors Harry fic, preferably AU or at least an early divergence from canon.

Are there any out there that are worth a read?

Meghanreviews's Unsung Hero (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2900438/1/Unsung_Hero) comes to mind as having substantial Flitwick screen time, but I wouldn't recommend the story. The ending is among the most disappointing in HP fanfiction.

One that I can recommend is Belleradh's Grimm: A Fairy's Tale (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5001827/1/Grimm_A_Fairys_Tale). The story is set prior to Harry's entering Hogwarts, but Flitwick is Harry's main contact with the wizarding world.

 

Well, reading Unsung Hero would at least forever wipe the urge to read a Flitwick-centered story from your mind...

 

There is The Point by Caliburn, which is damn good and the story so far is shaping up very well. It deliberates from what I have seen so far on dueling and various aspects of it. Flitwick is also done in an excellent way. You can check the WbA thread for updates that has not been posted at FF and PC.

There is Jbern's To Fight The Oncoming Darkness, which featured Flitwick quite a lot.

And this is not something that I recommend, but since you asked for early divergences in canon: First Steps.

 

Just finished the Grimm fairy tale one. Interesting read, and has a lot of potential for Flitwick as a main character in the next book.

I read The Point as well and that was awesome. Only one chapter posted on PC at the moment so I'll check WBA for updates.

I haven't read a single thing by Jbern I've liked (He's a skilled writer, just not my style.) but I'll take a peek at to fight the coming darkness.

Verdict still out on First Steps and Unsung Hero. Let's see what I find in the ones you recommended rather than mentioned.
