And yeap. Jouichirou is a beast. I suppose shounen protagonists having amazing dads they can never hope to match has become a staple.

 

On one hand, the art is fantastic, the descriptions are vivid and the author has somehow managed to turn cooking food into a shounen anime with training montages and tourney arcs, hightening my interest in food.

On the other hand, i feel the last good plot was the Stagaire arc and the author does suffer from having to escalate things further and further, veer the plot into even more extravagant directions when the basic premise was already interesting enough. I mean he had already set the goals so clear at the start of the series: Get Souma into the Elite 10, capture the first seat and cook Erina a meal she can't disparage. And now Azami messes shit up and turns it so generic. You could have a bunch of interesting characters in the Elite 1, now the most defining traits for at least 6 of them is that they went and supported a child abuser before they could utter a word of dialogue.

Well, i will still stick around because watching people overract to delicious food is something no text could appropriately convey

As someone who works in that industry I can safely say chef uniforms are not in the least bit flattering. Pulling one off like that requires a certain amount of money and 'talent'.

 

I'm sorry, but which chef uniform? When you literally make give every girl big boobs, a firm ass and a curvy body, then make every attire they wear seem to woven out of spandex by the way they fit the contours of all the bodies so shapely, you do need to be more specific

Well, I thoroughly expect Team Saiba to dominate. Soma and Saiba have literally cooked together for years in the same kitchen. For all that they're butting heads here, they probably know how to work together.

After last chapter (and her first glimpses of actual character development) I thought maybe Erina will stop being as insufferable.

Then this chapter. Nope. Still ridiculously annoying and lacking anything to separate her from a cut-out archetype of the worst kind.

Midway through I was leery that this interim month would take another dozen chapters to get through, but I was happily surprised.

 

We finally have a lineup for the protag team. I wasn't really surprised by the lineup, although I wonder how creepy-stalker guy will perform (and if he'll do anything other than serve as Worf'ing for an enemy)

 

Many thoughts on this.
1) I hope we get to see Isshiki cooking seriously.
2) I wonder what kind of fan-service deus ex the author will provide for Rindou to lose the match but not lose any face because heaven forbid.
3) I wonder how quickly the whole thing will go. Will each unique matchup take up a manner of chapters each, or will we only see snippets?

 

Chapter 206 Summary: Alice Continues To Be Best Girl, Confirmed.

 

Hah. She does, but Rindou is giving her a run for her money. See her in her cooking outfit? Holy smokes.

I'd forgive you for missing it, the ahegao-brigade was pretty... Distracting...

Competition is healthy though.

 

Personally, not all that invested in her, but eh. I know some of you really liked her for some odd reason.

Anyway, Isshiki is being arrogant as fuck, and I love it. That cool delivery to Nene that she won't even get to go toe to toe with him was lulz.

 

The dopey fucking face Souma has when he uses the noodle machines makes me lose my shit. It's just like One Punch Man.

 

I live for that dopey face.

And she's not better than Alice yet (as you infer, we don't really know much about her), but I'm liking Rindou for very similar reasons. Supposed badass, hot, and trololololol status.

 

I want a side story with Alice and Rindou teaming up to troll everyone.
