Latest chapter's out, and they're continuing to build up Eizan. Kind of makes me uncertain what the result is going to be, because while Soma isn't likely to lose outright, giving him a complete victory would apparently mean he's already above a decent fraction of the Elite 10.

 

Eizan is called 'the alquimista' which seemed particularly awesome. The Alquimista. It just rolls off very pleasantly.

 

I actually have no idea how this is going to turn out. By far the most exciting conclusion we've had in some time

 

Eizan has some great faces. His reaction to Souma being shocked that he can cook is great.

I like that Eizan deserves his arrogance. Smug assholes are a dime a dozen, but smug assholes that deserve their overblown sense of self-worth? That's rare.

 

How funny would it be if Soma 'loses', but he still wins because he somehow bought back the judges?

Perfection.

 

Unfortunately I doubt Soma has anything that could 'outbid' the pure $$$ Eizan has at his disposal. My money's still on Rindo or maybe Kuga pulling this out of the fire.

 

Tbh, I could see Soma getting accepted back into the Academy after losing the Shokugeki by Elite 10 majority vote. Pretty sure enough of them like Soma/are interested in his track record to push it through.

 

Hmm I can completely believe and understand that Soma might very realistically lose, but I really, really want to see him stomp Eizan's face into the ground.

 

I would hate that. With a passion.
