Creating all those environments and models isn't a simple task. It would be a lot of work for a prank.

So if it is real, it's likely to be made by the makers of Batman: Arkham, not EA like previous HP games.

Hogwarts in 1800s sounds awesome, but the "late bloomer" thing is a bit awkward. I'm guessing they want the game to have a relatively mature feel to it (blood, etc) so they can't have 11 year old kids as the main characters, but they also want you to learn magic from scratch. So long as it's not considered canon... (looking at you, HP Wiki).

He says in another thread he made there that the game will have unforgivable curses and killing. But I sincerely doubt that the player character will actually use any of the unforgivables and the killing we can see just fine in the leaked footage when that goblin gets impaled.

Holy fuck if Rocksteady are making this. The Arkham trilogy was defining in terms of setting the standard for the superhero game genre, and their combat system was the tits. The story was great, however it was aided by B:TAS writers.

1800s setting eliminates the headache of dealing with modern technology and is significantly far enough away from any books/movies to allow them to develop a strong wizard/witch that doesn't have to conflict with canon. Even so, fuck it, I would be down with being able to become the 1800s version of Dumbledore. Starry moon robes and all.

I love how they‘re still using the same sound effect for Lumos that they introduced in the first scene of the PoA film.

I really hope that this is true, and not a fake trailer. If it is true, then it can't be anything but amazing, holy hell, I'm already getting hyped from just watching this trailer once.

 

This has me way too hyped. The wait for a modern HP game that doesn’t suck has been way too long.

While I would say there is good chance it's not a fake considering how WB is expanding with games based on their franchises, I'm a lot less confided about the quality of the game itself.
