When I read the support threads a lot of times the word "format" comes up, how do you format your computer to get rid of everything on your computer so you can reinstall you windows. Sorry, I just not very computer-savvy.
I really want to know in case if I ever download something that fucks up my computer. Or should I just run my Desktop on a Virtual Pc like sandbox(don't know if this counts as warez talk).

Nah, that's not warez talk. Easiest way to format your pc is to download a linux distro and run it as a livecd. You can format your drive from there. Just make sure to save all your drivers to a jump drive beforehand.

Or you can format using a windows installation CD/DVD. If your concern is with making sure no one can ever recover anything from it (i.e., you're selling/throwing away a computer that has sensitive data on it such as bank details), you can use a dban disc which will overwrite everything a few times.

Every system install disc lets you format your drive. So all you need is a copy of whatever system you plan on installing.

Edit: Oz beat me by a couple of seconds. :(

You have to admit, it is amazingly ironic that after Tehan just used lmgtfu to showcase how easy it is to look something up for yourself, you go and ask such a question.

    I mean, really? Really?

Erm... It was meant to be a joke. That's why I told Oz it wasn't meant as a literal request.

I'm perfectly aware of the irony; it was intentional.
