I just saw the forth movie and I was disappionted in the Death Eater's robes and such. I had always pictured the death eaters wearing black robes somewhat similar to Palpatine in Starwars with white masks to cover their faces, instead they have some strange pointy hats.

And yes, we were all rather disappointed with the dismal lack of effort the costume designers put out. Rather they looked like cheap knockoffs of KKK robes.

I wasn't that disappointed by the DEs, as much as I was disappointed by Voldemort... here is this evil villain of the wizarding world, a thing, which cant be called a man anymore, etc etc... he acted like a clown.:wall:

when did Drumstrang become all male school and Beuxbatons all female...

The book was the second best in the series, but this movie managed to be almost worse than the PS movie.

If, and that's a big if, they are based on the Klan's outfit, I guess it could be understood, due to both groups racist views.

But whoever dresses like that has obviously never been in a fight or a duel in his/her life; robes are clumsy enough, but balancing those things on top of their heads while moving around dodging spells is impossible.

I hated the film so much. They cut out vital bits to include pointless bits. What was the point in showing them go the World cup, if you saw nothing of the match, and If they werent in the top box with the ministers?

Then they made up some crazy 15 minute scene for the the 1st task. When did Harry fly around Hogwarts, hanging off a roof to get the egg? Then Hermione telling Ron and Harry to go to bed after the ball. What the hell did harry to to get that response.

In fact the only bit i liked was the re-birth.

I hated the first task. Instead of making it look like Harry dominated that task, he came off looking like a chump. The Dragon didn't get loose in the book, did it? And what the hell was with the spiders? Since when does the Imperius curse allow beings to defy the laws of gravity? It's one thing to make them dance around, but another to have them float through the air. Moody looked like he was Leviosa-ing them around the room instead of controlling their minds.

The entire movie was a joke. Had I never read the Goblet of Fire I would have had no idea exactly what the hell was going on. It was a bunch of badly made scenes mashed together into something not even resembling a story. Everything they did hinged on the inane belief that effects and artificial drama are what creates a good movie. Had they cut out the bad embellishments and instead focused on the actual plot they might have come up with a better movie. The Imperius Curse is a good example...it controls minds not the forces of gravity. The Killing Curse does not blast objects, it kills them.

The dragon scene would have been more dramatic if they did it the way it was portrayed in the book with him luring it into the air and getting it to attack him, then while it was distracted doing a dive and grabbing the egg. Not walk out onto some uneven rock and dive behind rocks for fifteen minutes before getting into some aerial battle over Hogwarts.

I'd like to add to this rant by pointing out how stupid Voldemort looked. In the books he is portrayed as a dark, scary person and the Voldemort from the movie looked like he got hit in the face by a shovel. He is supposed to be a tall sinister figure, in my mind that equates to dark heavy robes and a shrouded face only showing his red eyes (where were they). He's not supposed to be dressed in boyband garb.

The duelling also made me sick. I imagine duelling to be fast paced and exciting, the duelling in the movies just make it look like a bad cartoon. And where in the books does it say that ANY spell blasts someone back. My example for this is in the second movie (I know, wrong thread, but I'm on a roll) where Malfoy does the dancing jinx (tarantegla or something) and Harry get blasted backwards instead of starts dancing.

i thought voldemort was well played, i guess the whole thing with him a shrouded face would of worked also but i feel like he is already such a scary figure to everyone it would be overkill.

i just liked the motion he did, i think what will make or break the movie voldemort is the scene in the DOM in OOTP, when harry and bella are talking and voldemort comes out is probally my fav part of all the books.

plus we'll see if they can do a real proper duel in the movie.

I feel the whole movie is just a half-assed effort aiming at money, box office sales, awards and shit like that. Though, of course, being a Harry Potter film, it's bound to get them anyway.

Voldemort looked perfect, with the exception of the red eyes, before he starts prancing around like a ballerina. And the Death Eaters, I don't want to mention those conical things on their heads.

They cut so much and fast-forwarded the first half of the movie so much that your mind is whirling, just to include things like the Durmstrang and Beauxbatons entrance and the dragon scene. Impressive, yeah, but the butterflies...I wanted to gag. And they could have shortened the dragon scene to add more important details, like the awesome Qudditch Cup.

I also found a problem with castings like Cho, Fleur, Moody, Dumbledore and Cedric, who's an arrogant jerk.

Ron's, Ginny's, Cedric's, Harry's and Cho's costumes for the Yule Ball were displayed in where I lived for quite some time. Pity they were in glass cases...

I jsut have to ask, whats with Flitwick becoming a conductor in the 2nd and 4th films? If was nicely cast in the 1st film, but really after that he jsut looked gay.

In that thing you call a closet. Better watch out,
    The Bad
    • Crouch Jr. being in the room with Voldemort and Wormtail.
    • They totally skip how Harry finds about Crouch's dead body. Instead of talking to Cedric, Hagrid is being gay with Ron and Hermione singing like retards. Harry is with them and finds the body.
    • They skip Bill and Charlie. Don't even show the bloody Burrow.
    • Dumbledore is apparently . The whole movie he s just running around being a retard. He freaking mad-handles Harry in after his name comes out.
    • Hermione is never shown supporting Harry after his name is called. She's shown walking with Ron.
    • In the second task, instead of Harry swimming to the top, he uses a spell that blasts him fucking 30 feet out of the water and on the dock.
    • Cho's ugly.
    • They don't even bother with the kitchens, Dobby or Winky.
    • Instead of Harry running away and them hearing someone use the curse, Harry is kicked in the face, and wakes up to see him do it.
    The Good
    • They got the title right.
    • Harry is kicked in the face.
    I hate this movie.:wall:

It's your choice really. Maybe were being too harsh, maybe you will like it. On this site, we are all a little biased, as we pretty much like the same stuff.

Well if you can see it for free, I say you might as well, sure it has problems, but I could handle it, if nothing else at least you will have seen it and will be able to talk about it

Meh, she wasn't as pretty as I imagined, but still not the hag that some people seem to think. She did an alright job IMO

Just ignore the crying part from Harry, when he came back from the Graveyard.
