So, very long story short: There is this thing called the One Power (basically: magic) that has two halves. Saidar is the half usable by women. Nynaeve, one of what I would consider the six main characters, is a woman not only capable of channeling (using) saidar, but had the spark. This means that she didn't need to be taught to use it, but her ability to use it manifested when she was probably around 16. This is normally fatal, but about one in four survive, and these are considered wilders by the main, major group of women channelers. However, when this happens the channeler in question usually has a block stopping them from truly being able to use the One Power. With saidar, you have to be willing to surrender to it, instead of trying to force it/take control of it. Nynaeve's block is that she can only channel when angry, something that basically any woman taught about saidar believes to be impossible. She has great trouble learning how to surrender to it.

So basically, saidar is there all up in her face and she is almost constitutionally incapable of surrendering to it, and thus essentially cowers from it.

That's probably as short and simple as I can make the explanation.

I came across this YEARS ago on Imgur, and think about it every now and then. HERE is a tumblr post with the largest grouping of these I can find. But I know there's more out there.

I just love that someone made a grouping of memes based on something that DIDN'T HAPPEN, and then Tumblr/the internet went "fuck it, let's go"

Aviendha is Aiel, from the desert over the mountains. They have a code of social/moral conduct, Ji'e'toh ("honor and obligation"), which governs all aspects of behavior.

Aviendha is friends with Elaine, the crown princess of Andor, and knows Elaine likes Rand. At one point, Aviendha manages to conjure a Gateway and travel to a snow covered peak in the middle of a blizzard. Rand follows her through and they end up doing the nasty.

Aviendha feels guilty about this viz. her friendship with Elaine and says she has incurred toh (obligation) to Elaine for it.
