Dunno, I get where she's coming from. I grew up with something similar, with parents who had no respect for - or interest in - what I wanted to do, except for me it was a gun-nut doomsday prepper dad who tried to cram the Bible, assault rifles, motorcycles and sports down my throat, when I really just wanted to read and do nerd stuff.

What I actually wanted to do was never a factor because he just knew I would love this next harebrained, testosterone-poisoned activity he'd cooked up. It wouldn't have been so bad if he'd taken a break from it every now and then, but like the parents the girl in that post talks about, he was just always on, all the time, like he was a fucking machine whose sole purpose was to force me to like the things he liked through constant exposure. Kind of a depressing way to grow up, really, so I've got some sympathy for the girl.

 

Nah, put me in that situation and I'd be feeling the exact same way lol.

 

Okay, so which of you is the parent in that story? I know it's one of you.

 

If it wasn't for wrong gender, I'd say they already identified themselves in the last few posts/reacts.
