Is this supposed to be a reference to something, or just "Shepard fucks hot aliens" with no subtext?

 

Shepard has to do some pretty heavy stuff in the games, like put on trial for crimes against humanity not-humanity heavy. The joke is that's her pilot is defending her at her trial from accusations of it being because she's a racist by pointing out how many aliens she fucks.

The main plot of ME3 is the invasion of the 'Reapers' an ancient big bad threatening all life. The final ME2 dlc sets this up with Commander Shepard discovering their impending invasion and having to blow up a 'Mass Relay' (The ME universes FTL) in order to stop them coming through it, this has the unfortunate side effect of destroying the whole star system and all the aliens living in it.

 

I'm assuming it's part of Shepard's courts martial after the events of Aratoht, Project Rho, and the Alpha Relay.

 

I am very familiar with plots of all games and DLCs and this didn't come through at all, maybe because Shep was never actually put on trial in the game, so I didn't make the connection.

 

Yeah, it's a shame they cut the trial, it was actually in the earlier stuff they showed off for ME3.

 

As a Broncos fan I‘m pretty happy right now, but this has some big bruh energy. I think admin got day drunk.

Without the key, it was just some doodles. With the key, it all makes perfect sense and makes one wonder on the nature of memes as the language of the Internet.

 

I'm always on the lookout for Unspoken Curse, so I spotted that one, and then realized that the Duality of Man was familiar, and went through them all that way. Only Accepted Death took me a minute.

 

I don't get it

 

Thaum provided a key for the meme he posted--which is that the drawings are minimalist versions of well-known memes. Once I saw this description, the OG memes were instantly recognizable behind the stick figure drawing style. And it made me think a bit about how we infuse memes with meaning so that you can react to something with a meme and other Internet users will instantly know what you mean. A language is a system of signs imbued with meaning. Memes are a language that Internet users (well, not all of us, but you know what I mean) are fluent in.

 

Ah, ok. Then it's because I simply don't know most of those memes.
