Game Overthinker

Anyone ever watch these vids on youtube? They're pretty interesting and thought provoking. The series is done by the guy who made that great review for the Twilight movie on the Escapist, moviebob. He is a big Nintendo fan, but he give the other systems their props. Still, he makes some great points in his videos and most of his stuff focuses on the gaming industry as a whole. He constantly refers to the old school gamers compared to modern casual and hardcore gamers etc etc.

My favorite video so far was v11 where he compares the future of gaming to the comic book industry and its implosion.

There are 22 videos right now and moviebob has a pretty decent update speed. Only down side I can really think of it moviebob's voice can get on my nerves if I listen to him for too long.

That guy is awesome!

Thanks for pointing out his videos. I usually watch the AVGN episodes whenever a new one is released, but the GO's approach to 'reviewing' (if you can even call it like that) is refreshing.

 

This guy is boring. I could barely get through the first video.

He just went on and on about stuff that every single game critic mentions, and sounds a lot more irritating doing it.

His voice annoys me.

EDIT: I take it back, I've got used to the voice now and it's become much more amusing.

 

Yeah, the first video was pretty generic, but his later stuff is better. For example, V8 he talks about Resident Evil 5 and the comments about racism connected to it or as I mentioned before V11 he makes good points about the future of the gaming industry.

Well, I did tell you his voice can be annoying ^_^
