Man, Red Faction was awesome. Got some great memories of that game.

Red Faction 1 actually had something similar to this, but on a much smaller scale, and I remember it being the first FPS to have walls damaged by RPG's. Not many even after this game used this.

I would definitely vote for Dragon's Dogma 2, it keeps the same combat system but a few tweaks, the monsters and their graphics. And change everything.

The stupid, senseless and at the same time convoluted and simplisitc story.

The awful, awful english voice acting.

The painful graphics for the scenery and background stuff.

The way the save system works. Or the Main menu. Really, a one save slot only? In the PS3? Fuck you too CAPCOM.

    Adding actual characters.

So what I meant is... I want the skeleton from Dragon's Dogma and combat system and given to someone who knows what they were doing.

(And CAPCOM was disappointed with the low sales in the West, when they compete with the likes of Bethesda and Bioware who even at their worst shit better stories and characters that that. And hire actual voice actors with an actual script.)

I know, I played it like last week I think. It was a great game while it lasted, but unfortunately, it's old school now. Graphics wise I mean. I am still waiting for Crackdown 3 though. This video shows what it is introducing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWANLy9TjRc

Are you trying to say that Grigori's voice acting wasn't superb?

Oh God no, it was amazing. Really powerful, bitter and wise (and not ridiculous overblown by sound effects). I think it was even better than Alduin's or Paarthunax. It's the only one though.

So there is a weird part of me that wishes there was a game like Kerbal Space Program but for trains. Like you'd get to choose the gauge size, the boiler type/location, axle bogies, all the nitty gritty bits that you never got to play around with in a game like Railroad Tycoon. It probably wouldn't have the same appeal that KSP has, but you'd still get the fun explosions when trains run off the rails.

Another idea that came to me (after playing Universe Sandbox' was that I would like a 'Universe Sandbox' sequel except it not being a Universe Sandbox but a Earth Sandbox in which you could put humans and destroy whole continents and all. Would love to see it come out.

Has anyone here ever read Ready Player One? If something akin to that existed I'd play it.

Really, though, if any kind of cross franchise MMO existed I'd probably try it. Start in Guild Wars, swing by Star Wars to pick up a lightsaber, and then walk into Azeroth. Or Something.

I was considering an open world ASoIaF game and in what period it should be happening. As tempting as it would be to put it in GoT timeline, I would refrain from it. Unless you really plan to allow the players to affect overall outcome, you're bound by too many well know events and details. I would say it's much more preferable to use something less established, but with clear connection to the future.

My choice? The First Blackfyre Rebellion. With only two sides, it's already less complicated than the War of the Five Kings, allowing for two, maybe three paths for the player to choose from. The territory too can be limited to few locations instead of dozens that would be necessary for true GoT experience. And unlike the Dance of the Dragons, it doesn't have dragons around. I wouldn't want them to be involved if you can't use them yourself and that complicates things too much for the first hypothetical game. It's something to figure out for a possible sequel though.

Because I would like the players to be important enough to be instantly involved in rebellion I would have the be one of the Great Bastards. Three, or even four, roads they can take:
    - help House Targaryen,
    - help House Blackfyre,
    - try to sit on the Iron Throne on their own (the hardest path and with the least happy ending, even if they reach their goal),
    - try to stay neutral (it basically means letting everything happen as it did in the canon and focusing on other quests instead).

What's different from most games is that the total failure is an option. You can back House Targaryen up and if you make wrong choices or are defeated in important battles, even if you initially survive, you'll ultimately get an ending where Blackfyre wins. And they don't show any mercy to their enemies. Better luck next time.

Of course because games are suppose to be fun, it would be possible to activate hints allowing players to avoid the worst outcome or allowing instantly replay certain events. The highest difficulty level would be called Game of Thrones and would have none of that. ;)

Something like Pokken Tournament, but with all availiable Pokemon + MMORPG elements. That would be so awesome, yet also kind of a killer. You produce it once and no one will buy other products by Game Freak.

A Harry Potter rpg in the style of Kotor . It was my dream for a few years nearly a decade ago now.

Sequel to Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, with more gear/skills variety and skillpoints being less stingy. That game is enormously fun and has replay value, but it pretty much locked you into playing a warrior or assassin. Mages got the short end of the stick there. And I'd rather have it set in the original 3DO universe than Ubisoft's reboot one.

I’d like a game similar in concept to Fable 3 ( ruling a nation with your rise to power/decision making)
But with old school bio ware storytelling yet crusader kings complexity

I would sell my soul for a revival of Star Wars: 1313. Or alternatively, a Witcher-style RPG set in the Shadowrun universe (one of the reasons I'm super hype for CP2077).

I'd like a Fable. But of the type glimpsed at the start of Fable 1 before the hero guild gets trashed, where there are dozens of heroes roaming the land and you can see dozens of possible quests of multiple levels, instead of the sudden change to only one or two quests available which are the next ones in the storyline.

In fact I've thought about it way too much, and I'd like it to gradually change seasons, so every in game day is an hour real time (possibly two, but that may extend the game too much), and each in game day corresponds to a month, so over the course of three hours it changes from spring to summer and a year takes twelve real time hours.

Most quests are then generated through the course of the game depending on what happens, so you may get a quest to protect the fields of a village from giant crows or locusts in summer but if you fail you get a quest in winter for the same village to bring supplies of food since all the harvest got eaten by monsters.

You can have long term interactions with heroes including teaming up with them and competing (not to the death which always seemed overly dramatic), and you also get bandit Villains which are recurring characters directly fighting against you.

Really I want a free roaming fantasy third person RPG with flowing time, actual seasons, and multiple antagonists that change the world around you in semi-predictable ways. I don't want time and the world around you to only move forward when you reach the next checkpoint, the date changing only being an increase in the calendar even after years of in game time, and people waiting for you to solve all the problems.

Fable had so much potential but just never seemed to quite reach it.

The one thing it lack I feel was character depth. So few of the characters felt real. Idk

I'd cheerfully murder someone for KotOR 3 done properly, if no one has mentioned it yet.

    Did someone mention Fable tho?

Whenever I see this mentioned, I always feel obligated to ask if you've played ToR. Some of the class stories I found genuinely better than KoToR, others far worse, but still. I don't think it gets enough love tbh.

As for me, quick and dirty answer is Okami 2.

More original is an open world How To Train Your Dragon game where you're a random Viking generated character. Think Pokemon meets Skyrim, sans bugs :p

That or the one game Nintendo could make that'd actually get me to buy their overpriced hardware. A Sheik/Tenchu game.

I always meant to, but I kept hearing things about why it was shite/not worth it. The game as a whole, more than the storytelling. How much would it cost me in terms of cash/time to get into it for the story side of things?
