I have enough to afford a champion, but am not sure who to get. These are the ones I don't own.

    Not shown: Ziggs

    Any advice, folks?

You don't have Renekton yet? He's a pretty good champion for bullying weak top laners and very strong roam. Admittedly late game he is a meat soak with poor reach in a teamfight but you can dominate early if you can learn to tiamat animation cancel his W.

Aatrox is just strong coming out of the jungle or top. REALLY good roams and split pushing.

Reksai is OP. Kha is a jungle assassin. I'm bad at jungle and I don't like assassins.

    Thanks for the input, though!

Wildfeather: Went with Aatrox. Got rekt by damned J4 + Rek'Sai.

Unfortunately if a Jarvan decides to ruin your day there's almost nothing you can do about it. With Rek helping I don't think it mattered who you played you were in for a difficult game.

What did you build? I find hydra core on Aatrox.

CLG vs C9 in a few minutes. I'm curious to see if there will be much priority placed on Kalista, seeing as how both Sneaky and Doublelift played her yesterday.

    edit:

Aaaand Kalista ban by CLG despite having first pick. Odd that they would prioritize Rumble over her.

Interesting. I've never tried going RoA first. Kinda feel like it would delay hitting max CDR too much for my tastes. Still, could be effective in some match ups. RoA+Athenes in a double AP comp? Might make Xerath a bit less painful, though jungler intervention usually favors Azir.

RoA doesn't really do anything for Azir. You don't need that much mana. You shouldn't need the HP because if you're getting hit you're out of position. The AP is nice but it delays your power spikes by a lot. Just getting Morello/Athenes then your big AP items is the way to go.

It is always so wonderful to see C9 suffer, and while I don't wish for them to suddenly fall off, because that would be unhealthy for the Western LoL scene, I definitely hope for them to fade away slowly enough that another team can step it up.

Yeah, Morello's is a good alternative too because of the CDR. Still, it's really not difficult to hit Azir, if someone is dedicated into doing so. (It's why his ult is so important). Getting HP is always nice on champions with such high DPS, because, the longer he survives the more damage he deals. And really, catalyst is one of the most OP items for laning in the game.

Err, Azir is really hp and mana reliant, especially mid to late game when you're constantly getting dived. Q just destroys your mana pool, though it's true soldiers are super mana efficient.

Q has a couple second cooldown and it's basically used constantly to reposition. You're oom and useless a lot without RoA.

Blowing your ult just so you don't die is a win for your opponents too.

No matter what you build, Azir is weak early game. Unless you snowball, you're playing cautiously against pretty much every matchup. Soldiers have a small range, so you're getting close to use them unless you Q to position them, which just nukes your mana.

RoA into NT is what I build, then deathcap/ZH (the order depending on how I'm fairing).

I'll only build morellos first if we really stomp and my mid/ top opponent isn't very good - which happens, but I don't base my builds around that.

Nashors on Azir is massively overrated, it really doesn't give you very much. Your build delays your power spikes by so long. He's not that weak early, you just seem to be waiting so long to get any AP or CDR.

If you're really worried about dying just get zhonyas after morello or run a defensive summoner spell. And his ult isn't on that long a cooldown that it's a major loss to use it in order to survive.

Delays? I start trucking people at Stinger, murdering at deathcap.

My build works very well. I'm aware of NT being divisive, but the massive AS spike is glorious.

To each their own I guess.

I run flash/ exh because I like using my ult offensively (inSec like. Soldier, flash, E, Qmidair, turn and ult). 20% cdr from runes and masteries too.

I pretty much exclusively build Morello's and after second blue and I never have mana issues. As long as you're not hitting E every cooldown or missing every Q, it's more than enough to poke out most opponents. Plus getting the early attack speed is extremely helpful for last hitting and DPS.

On top of that, Nashor's is really sup optimal. You gain no benefit from the passive, the AP is low late game and it prevents you from getting Void Staff. To make matters worse, you're then limited by what items give you the last bit of CDR. I'm assuming you're buying CDR boots? That further lowers your damage because you can't buy Sorc Boots.

Ironically Stinger is actually really powerful. The generally accepted optimal build right now runs 5% flat CDR blues, Morello's/Athene's and Stinger to achieve early max CDR and attack speed. You eventually sell the Stinger for a last item defensive buy.

Heh, I actually used to really like double Morello's too, but after the 200g nerf it's a bit less attractive.
