That Doublelift positioning though. For all the promise he shows at times, still the same old Peng. Still not a fan of the guy but my oh my, what a game.

Can't solely blame him though, Link whiffed twice in key situations & got destroyed for it.

Pffft. CLG wins up until they lose, as always.

It was a very entertaining match (up until the Link-throw), nevertheless.

 

Link and Xmithie getting caught all the time allowed TSM to come back into the game. And then as a cherry on top, Doublelift went full suicide bomber mode trying to do something.

CLG are sooo frustrating. They play so well at times, but fuck do they know how to throw almost unthrowable matches.

Ok, some of the salt has washed off from my crying.

It was a good game still, imo. Excellent ward and map play by CLG early while Bjergsen couldn't get too much done to carry TSM through the early game.

It was the teamfights that really sealed the deal. Crucial mistakes by Link and Doublelift, while TSM kited and danced around that river ridge nicely. CLG also looked a bit out of sync in the later teamfights with Zion/Xsmithie/Link going in at different times. Amazing charms by Bjergsen as well to punish CLG.

 

Mithie and Link went full NA, man.

 

It's honestly pointless to try and calculate the numbers right now. I mean, we can generally assume that it is not Riot's intention to nerf Mordekaiser. Rather, it's simply annoying because of how they want to CHANGE him. I'm guessing they want him to fit back into the role he used to be in around Season 1, where he's tanky, hard to kill, and has a stupid ghost. This worked great in Season 1, but not so much now because of how easily Mordekaiser can be kited (also, getting QSS is pretty worth it for most AD champs).

Ways to fix that is to either give Mordekaiser more mobility or CC, both of which basically just destroys what Mordekaiser is right now. There are cooler things they may want to consider though, such as giving Mordekaiser increased movement speed to the person he ghosts to, etc. But, we'll see where it goes.

 

I feel like if you're removing his burst, you're better off doing a total rework a la Sion.

 

I wouldn't say it's pointless but yes, they are definitely planning to nerf him to bring him in lone with other bruisers in top Lane (with the exception of Riven, no other champion builds offensive stats to get harder to kill to my knowledge). With any luck they will buff him from there, but Im doubtful because the play style is innately snowball orientation and lacks counter play. If they tweak the numbers so that he does enough damage to be worth picking up, he will be too strong because of his innate ability to gain effective health easily. Or they tweak numbers so that he is immensely difficult to kill but doesn't kill people before they can just walk away from them.

Riot really just doesn't have a clue how the Mordekaiser identity can work in their game currently. The fundamental aspects of being a fighter (as opposed to being a tank which they explicitly don't want him to be apparently) seem to preclude the Mordekaiser ideology of No Mobility, No Crowd Control, just death. Everything they are doing so far is just removing him from that identity in a cowardly way. Giving him a bloodboil shield is just fucking stupid, in no way does "giant metallic master of death" indicate to someone that you want to help allies "wif da powahz of magnutZ". Giving him false mobility in his W speed up and Q attack range gain is just a band aid for the underlying issue: If Mordekaiser can kill you without mobility and still have a lot of effective health, he is unbalanced. If he can't do both, there's no reason to pick him over Rumble.

Riot vastly overestimated how useful his ghost is (which they are nerfing also) in most situations. And in that 1% of times the ghost is a team altering play, good it's supposed to be like that. There are numerous, effective ways to counter Mordekaiser at all stages of the game, from itemization, to team focusing (not even just CC and kiting) and even specific champion destroying picks (you will never beat a cassiopeia. Ever.). Which is more than can be said about some WHOLE CLASSES of characters (looking at you assassins and bruisers) who have either singular weaknesses or no effective itemization options.

Edit: Riot reverted the shield changes. I feel like the changes were more toxic, not less overall (and according to my math) because getting to 4k hp meant you were really at far more than that, and were still able to deal a fair but of damage consistently (to be specific, at least 6% current health plus whatever spell you hit with over 3 seconds).

 

Riot seemingly teasing a new champ. Possibly a Bard? Support? Dude!Sona? I'm down.

 

Today's CLG and TSM games were disgusting. I don't know what happened but they're both the top two teams for sure now.

Both games showcased why they're number 1 and 2. Amazing laning and disciplined team play in TSM and incredible map strategy from CLG.

 

I hope TSM learned their lesson and never let Dyrus have Rumble again.

So I just tried out Nidalee for the first time since she was reworked. Holy shit, she is so much fun. Jayce was the first champ I really clicked with and she is basically just that on steroids, which it then combines with my love of pressing tons of buttons in rapid succession.

She may actually make try out jungle since I'm enjoying the simple act of using her abilities.

 

That fucking E. WTF so much potential for that shit.
