So following the Doublelift drama, I went and read Link's 20 page Donezo Manifesto about the state of the team and his reasons for leaving.

In short, Link was the leader and captain and always tried the most and was never wrong and the blame always rested on somebody else. The team was always full of internal conflict, and Dlift especially crushed people's confidence.

The entire manifesto is basically about Link's ego (always top 3 NA) and how everybody else sucked but he always tried his best and how good Meteos was.

Now I understand why basically everyone ridicules that thing.

 

But it birthed so many amazing memes, and Link's delusional if he always considered himself to be top 3 NA, he tilted so far off the planet on CLG and did nothing in his 3 splits, but hey, there'll always be Chauster.

I've yet to watch Thorin's interview with Hotshot but there's a 45 minute segment on Doublelift alone so, I expect there to be plenty in there for people to think on, the NA LCS will be a very interesting spectacle come January. Though at this rate so will EU with (supposedly) Elements disbanding and something like 7+ free agents currently off of last splits teams.

 

Watch Reflections with hotshot. It's enlightening in many ways. I may (may) remain a CLG fan. Depends on what the new roster looks like.

 

It made me think a lot less of Hotshot. It's just such a ridiculous interview, start to finish. It felt like Link's manifesto but in interview form. I'm not sure how people can watch it and come out of it liking Hotshot as a personality.

 

The Donezo manifesto was the greatest piece of literature written this century and also hands down the finest way anyone has ever left the Leauge of Legends scene.

 

That feel when you go into a game and you get first pick after losing because you got last pick in team (complete ego), and can't report in champ select. A player on my team was named R u Retard, who I had reported before for having an inappropriate name and he was toxic. Like, wtf. Said goodbye to 3 LP.

 

Not only 0/10, but 0/10 with a Crystalline Bracer, Tiamat and Giant's Belt as his items.

 

Tbf Tiamat>Warmogs doesn't sound that bad for any melee champ. I saw some far worse things when I was first levelling up. AP garen never forget.

 

B-but his ult does magic damage! Full-Penetration-Garen! Last Whisper, Black Cleaver, Youmuu's Ghostblade, Void Staff, Sorc Shoes and Liandry's Torment(for burning and hp!) or Abyssal Scepter(for Mres and a little more Mpen).

just started lol on the euw server under yolojedi after attempting to get into dota and failing.
just rounding up on lvl6 with 1500 IP in hand and im wondering whether to buy a champion or save up for now? if it helps i've discovered a fondness for marskmen style champions and a liking for the bot lane.

 

Eh, it depends. Some people like to save up all their IP so they can buy the tier 3 runes as soon as possible. Personally I preferred to just buy champs that I thought looked cool. The best thing is probably to play about with all of the free week champs and only buy them if you really love them.

By the way you should be able to get Tristana and Alistar for free by liking riot or league of legends on youtube and facebook. And I think there was something about getting garen free somehow, twitter maybe?

 

<- Still doesn't own Tristana, only owns Alistar for swaps back when he was popular, and only owns Garen because him and his Commando skin were gifted as intentional trolling(and still have not played him, despite ARAM trying oh so many times to give him to me, and I have yet to dodge either).

Anyway, I would say... play free week champions a lot. Both for frugality's sake, and for general champion knowledge. Find a couple or a few champions you might be willing to play a bunch(and are preferably not all 6300), then save up for T3 runes after that. Also, do not buy any T1 or T2 runes. The longest running trap the game has had.

As a generic rune set that can apply to anybody, Flat or Per-Level Armor Seals(I prefer per-level, personally). Per-Level Magic Resist Glyphs. Penetration Marks(either Armor Pen if you only play AD champions, or Hybrid Pen for most AP champions, with pure Magic Pen only being superior for a small subset of Mages). Movespeed Quints.

Obviously, there are numerous deviations that are more useful for specific champions and playstyles. The above is just a sample set that can work and provide useful stats for any champion that is played.

That reminds me... 65k ip, with 80250 worth of unowned champions. I don't want them, though :'(
