But really that 1v1 alone was almost worth staying up all night.

 

I fell asleep half-way through the first game (EU vs NA) and woke up just in time for the Forggen v Faker 1v1. I consider myself fortunate.

 

I'll have to catch up on that tomorrow.

In other news, the free rotation got rid of my darling Lux so I've been forced to use other champions. Vayne was interesting, but not really my style. I'm a fan of burst damage from abilities rather than AA. So I've moved on to Cho'Gath and I think I've found my perfect match. Not quite as fun to play as Lux because he's all about CC, but I love the fact that I can wade in and just tank hits all day long. I seem to have a thing for low mobility characters, though. Once I start using runes I'll have to put some into movement speed.

 

Welcome to the no adc club. I don't think those mobility runes are going to do what you think they're going to do though. Even stacking them up the difference is almost unnoticeable. If the map was say, 3 times as big? Maybe.

 

Eh, I run pages with MS quints sometimes. It's not a huge difference, but it's good for certain champs. Usually on junglers.

 

I probably wouldn't waste them on Lux because she's all about dat range, but Cho'Gath needs a little extra something so that he can close and get his Feast off.

 

Cho is an amazing champ. Easily one of my favorites, and the one that i mained to climb from S5 to G5 at the end of this season. His base damage is high enough that if you can get an early kill with him (and you can) then you can go RoA into whatever type of resistance you need (I usually go Abyssal Scepter for MR or Frozen Heart for armor) into the other type of resistance and be fucking unkillable.

Downside is that you're sacrificing some burst for all that tank, but you won't do any damage if they burst you down anyways. I usually build Rylai's after that for even more CC, then Deathcap or Void Staff. Insert the boots (Merc Treads, most likely) at any point that the gold works out for them post RoA.

Not saying that you can't ever vary from that bulid, obviously change things by the gameflow, but that's the structure that I use with Cho and I've got like a 75% win rate on him (better than that in lanes, I jungled with him in that time as well and it hovered around a 60% win rate).

Mobi runes aren't a bad thought, although I always just ran a standard ap page with him (AP quints, Magic Pen marks, Flat (whatever I'm landing against) seals/glyphs, and Scaling (whatever I'm not landing against) seals/glyphs).

 

Fucking Zilean vs Zilean mirror matchup without runes, masteries, items or skills. Top class 1v1 tournament.

 

My core set up, which I've been using to good effect as a tankier build than most is:

Rod of Ages
Frozen Heart
Abyssal Sceptre
Morellonomicon
Ninja Tabi (Alacrity)
Deathcap/Void/Zhonya's - Depending on what is necessary. If I'm getting burst down a lot, I'll take Zhonya's. If it's an AP heavy team, Void. Otherwise Deathcap all the way.

Cho'Gath is just awesome on lane if you take his E first. I've used it to good effect so far.

 

That's not a bad bulid, although idk if I'd build Morello. I mean, it's certainly not terrible, but you shouldn't need the regen by that point, and Grievous Wounds is overrated in the post-TP meta imo since everybody and their mother has ignite. That said, part of the fun is figuring out what you like on your own, so I'd encourage you to keep doing what you're doing if you're liking it.

But yeah, e is quite strong in a sneaky sort of way. I usually start q to poke my opponent when he goes in for CS/cover my ass if they try to trade early, then go hard at 2 with e. Then you can usually have them completely zoned or get a kill by 3 or 4.

 

Straight up build Dreadnaught on him if you want movement. Great item for anyone who needs to be a bit tanky.

 

Meh. Hard to justify Deadman's on Cho unless you're going full tank (in which case R won't really hit that hard). But yeah, that is a possible solution.

 

I go Morello mostly for the cooldown reduction. That plus Frozen Heart give me the max 40% cdr, the AP bonus and mana regen are just icing on the cake at that point. It means I can chain spam if I get the Q-E-AA-R combo right.

 

Froggen vs Doublelift 1v1 is insane.

Froggen managed to get pulled to the Fountain by using Snowball on a recalling Twitch as Olaf. TWICE.

 

99 cs and he goes balls deep for the kill. My fucking heart.
