Posts from Little Italy don't show up in searches anymore, for some reason.

Site-wide search only returns posts from other forums, and searching inside Little Italy or inside game threads returns "sorry - no matches."

I think it started once Little Italy got a link on the front page

Ditto here too, probably just a coding issue.
I wish you luck in your endeavours in finding it.

It's not a bug, it's to remove the flood of the "recent posts" that mafia creates.

I will talk to Sesc and Raven about it.

    Thanks for letting us know.
It just seemed strange that the service stopped working after there was a relocation of Little Italy. I thought it might have had to do with it being located in Games>Little Italy and that not being written into the coding. But I digress. It'll be good if we can get it back in some capacity.

Also, how was this prevented before? I assume that this would have been an ongoing problem beforehand. (This isn't directed at Lexicat as I assume she mightn't know, it's more of a question to anyone willing to answer, otherwise a thought typed out.)

    ---------- Post automerged at 00:31 ---------- Previous post was at 00:27 ----------

I was going to suggest that if the idea of the move is to also attract new players, it might be a good idea to have an into kind of post explaining some Mafia and stuff to people whom are otherwise unaware of what it is.

I came across https://forums.darklordpotter.net/showthread.php?t=25920. This seems to have anything in it I was going to suggest. Would it be a good idea to make a sticky of this, or to have a sticky with this kind of information in it?

It was not prevented before, which is the reason we tried to do it now. The first approach did not work, it's a coding issue. Search should work again.

Also, we already thought of that, but thanks for linking the thread.

I wanted to propose an idea that I've encountered on another Mafia site.

On that other site, there's a standard MVP vote done by players/observers and an MVP award given by each game's mods as they feel it's most deserved.

It might be a fun thing to do in games into the future, whether with formality (keeping track of MVP awards the same as we keep track of what faction wins etc.) or just a for-fun thing people do in whichever games they feel like (whenever a game's mod feels like it, etc.)

So I was curious if anyone would be running a Survivor-style game again any time soon?

I would be willing to host one if I had some help with how to host a successful Survivor (ex: what types of events, how to structure things in terms of villages/teams, any sources for rules/events/twists/etc., etc.)

Citrus have you checked out the first 2 Survivor games on DLP by Zeitgeist?

I've skimmed through them, my worries are I won't be able to replicate
    1) Twists (I don't have much experience with playing Survivor games myself)
    2) New/different events (I don't want to verbatim just grab a bunch of already seen events, especially as it's likely there would be players that have played in them that would play in one now)

Both are kind of more replicating issues + coming up with organic ones that fit the style/nature. I'm not sure I could just make up good ideas for these as I haven't played much Forum Survivor before.

I could try to wing it, but it'd be a bit more piecemeal than my occasional-OCD would like.

Eh you know what, why not. If anyone's interested in co-hosting Survivor with me, especially if it's someone with Survivor experience along the lines of the level played before here, I'd very seriously consider setting it up to play in a couple weeks or so.

I can try to do it myself, but it'll just be a lot more difficult for me to be on-the-dot with deadlines, flavor, etc.

Sorry Citrus I have experience and interest but no time. I suggest Bill Door or someone who's familiar with mechanics. Lexicat if you can get her.

I was asking as I'd be more than happy to help set and run one, it's just a lot of time and energy goes into them and their challenges and what not so I would rather have like 2-3 "directors" and then a pair of hosts who post in the thread it self. The hosts would have to basically be on opposite time frames with the 3rd director being the in-betweener. Citrus, idk what time zone you're in but I'm in EST so GMT-5. If we find a third who fits, i'd be more than happy to work with you on crafting a Survivor game.

See, those are things I didn't even think of considering (though it's been awhile since I've brushed through the Survivor games here).

But yeah, I'd definitely be down then! I'm Central GMT-6 (unfortunately)

I guess if anyone else is interested in hosting/directing/etc., post here or PM us and we can work from there?

That was totally correlation, not causation.

    Come join us, Riley.

Never played a survivor, but I'd be down, plus need a break from modding.

Irene should totally join too so we can play together for once.

Then again, I suppose she might turn it down. I wouldn't blame her if she fears my skill. Don't give her a hard time if so.
