Ok, so I feel like a retard for asking this, but I figure there'll be someone here who can help me and my stupidity can live on.

I can't upload gifs. Or rather, I can upload them, but they never move, and I really don't understand it. I've had this problem on DLP and on Tumblr (I assume it's the same problem), and I can't see any reason for it. Tumblr help suggests it's the size, but I'm not sure - I have the same problem regardless of size.

I should perhaps point out that my tech knowledge extends pretty much to word processing and internet browsing...

I have googled this, btw. Not much help.

Well, first of all not every gif is animated. Are you sure the gifs you're trying to upload are animated? Secondly, an example of one of the gifs you're trying to upload would be helpful, and walk us through exactly what you're doing.

    Example.

I've tried copying directly from a website (eg failblog or something), and I've tried saving and uploading to imgur, then pasting the link. Whenever I post it, I just get the first image, for this and every other gif I've tried.

No idea whether they're animated though :/

If they have multiple frames that they scroll through like the one you linked then they're animated. So when you save and upload to imgur you do exactly this? you don't edit it with paint or anything?

I've always used the link for message boards, not direct links. Other than that, yes. I've also had the problem with gifs that are basically film clips on a loop. Don't know if that's different, sorry.

The link for message boards just wraps it in IMG tags for you, so that wouldn't be the problem. Which browser and OS are you using?

Press ctrl+shift+del and clear your cache and cookies and see if that fixes it. I'm drawing a serious blank on what the issue could be though.

Take the gif you just used as an example, download it to your PC, and then upload it somewhere. We need to see an example of the broken version.

Then someone can compare the good and broken versions of the gif.

Edit: WTF /confused. I genuinely did nothing different, but as far as I can see, it's working :S
Also, @Oz: didn't clear my cookies/cache yet, but I do it periodically anyway. Never seems to affect it.
And working in other threads, by the looks of things...
