You consider that to be "a hell of a good looking girl?"

In my mind she is average at best, I would say below average is closer to the truth.
However, she does have time to grow into her looks so I will give a the benefit of the doubt for that.

But frankly, I don't see why everyone demands Ginny to be extraordinary looking. I mean, look at her own mother, not the best-looking witch there is. Not even the faded looks of a woman who was once beautiful and then had too many kids, but just a plain short stocky woman. A typical farmer's wife by the looks. And the little description of Ginny's looks I've seen point in that direction, short, freckled, may be cute as a child but thos looks won't last for long and about to have weight problems once puberty has run its course.
So yes, I consider the actress a fitting chice for her.

 

I meant that even a different good looking actor woult be bashed here too, just because the character of Ginny is not really liked;-)

 

I've seen very few Brit chicks that didn't look slightly manly, why should this girl be any exception, heh

 

If Ginny looked hot, I would call her hot. But its not going to happen with her.

okay, so she isn't the hottest girl they could've chosen and she isn't all that...so I don't get how people can still write ginslut stories about how sexy she is...after they see these pics. she isn't THAT bad...but she's nothing special.

 

As a brit chick myself, i'm gonna have to take offense to that...lol.

As for the ginny picture. Who is she played by again? Bonnie...something. The haircut does nothing for her IMO...it's just weird. She has pretty eyes though...she's not gorgeous and I doubt we'll be seeing her in FHM anytime soon but unlike some people I wouldn't see her in the street and think, 'Oh my god, that girl is hideous.'

 

Or maybe they'll make it into a softcore porno, who knows.

 

If they get a hot new Ginny, and make it a softcore between that actress and Emma I don't think I would mind that much.

 

This can be a blessing in disguise--seing how many fangirls base their likings on who's hot in the movies, this can cause a backlash against Ginslut.

I've been quite a few times on a French HP website, which happens to have a very exhaustive gallery about all five movies. Users can comment on the pictures.

On a picture of Ginny in the fourth movie, many comments had been posted, most of them (well -- all, in fact, except mine ) rambling on about how BEAUTIFUL she was, "even more than Fleur", and how happy the authors of the comments were when thinking about what happens in HBP *shudders*. I kind of disagreed with them, a quite violent written fight ensued, and the staff deleted all the comments.

Since then, a new comment has been posted by someone who seems to actually have a pair of functional eyes ("it's hard to believe she's gonna go out with Harry later... but why not...").

But obviously, all H/G shippers were so happy their favourite ship had happened in HBP that it clouded their judgement about the actress. I mean, come on -- maybe they should have chosen an actress prettier than Clémence Poésy for Fleur, but compared with Bonnie Wright, Clémence Poésy is a goddess.

 

The actress is not bad looking, but she's not sexpot Ginny who has every guy in Hogwarts panting after her in HBP. Before seeing these pictures, I always thought she looked too young. Now I don't know. I was at some site once that had a picture of her smoking a cigarette, and I couldn't even tell it was the same girl from CoS.

The main thing with me is, I haven't seen the kid do enough to decide if she can even act. If she can't act, the last two films are going to really drag.

They could have gotten someone better looking, but she will do. Thing is, she has less screen time in the movies than she does in the books! (I guess that would be page time) How are they going to explain the shipage in HBP to the people who don't read the books?
