My brother bought the Earth 2150 trilogy, tried to install it on his laptop. He couldn't get it to run. We thought that it might be because he was using Windows 7, so I downloaded it and tried to install on my laptop, running XP. It installed fine, but every video test on every setting failed. Sometimes the screen went black for a few seconds or blinked, but otherwise nothing.

Any advice? I tried tech support a couple days ago, but haven't gotten a response yet.

It's shouldn't be a hardware issue, as far as I can tell - I've used this laptop to run Oblivion before. Besides that, it's done Earth 2150 off a disc. But the GOG version won't move past video testing. I have all my drivers.

It shouldn't be my brother's laptop either, unless 7 is what's causing issues. He can run Crysis 2.

You may have already done this, but incase you haven't: Reduce your laptop's resolution to 1024x768 and then try it.

I assume you've already combed through here: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/earth_series/

There are some unofficial community created patches and tools for the Earth 2150 Trilogy.

Have you updated your video drivers since the time you played Earth 2150 on a disc? New drivers can break compatibility with old games. Try uninstalling your 3D video driver and downgrading to a much earlier version. You can find archives of older nVidia and ATI drivers around the internet, perhaps even on their websites. If you can't then try here:
